This week I'm joined by my brother Chezera as he shares his testimony of renouncing & denouncing Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. He shares his experience of pledging and the rituals that are part of the initiation process.
Much like the other Divine Nine organizations, Iota is involved in hazing, mason practices, and much more.

His closing remarks brought tears to my eyes-- “The Lord is *more* interested in us.” I left the Jehovah’s Witnesses organization in 2021. The Jehovah’s Witnesses organization is a high control group, a cult, one of the seats or synagogues of Satan. It was Holy Spirit that awakened myself and my children. I have gained Christ Jesus in my heart and life. You’d think that I would have gained Christ years ago being a part of a religious organization that claims t be the one and only true religion on Earth, while calling ALL other religions, members of Babylon the Great which God will destroy . I so greatly appreciate watching these videos because of the strong spiritual conviction of Christ of the interviewer and interviewees. Thank you. I think I’m finally ready to share my testimony. It’s not an easy thing to do, and I honestly wanted to keep mine quiet and leave quietly. But I keep getting convicted heavy about sharing mine.
I was definitely going to stay quiet as well. We would love to hear your testimony.

When I was at Morgan State University in the early 70's hazing was very bad on campus. Morgan is the mother chapter for Iota and many of the football players at Morgan were members of Iota Phi Theta. After hearing these horror stories, I am glad I didn't pledge Kappa.
I have been a member of Iota PHi Theta for 47 years, never heard some of these things he speaks of. This must has been specific to his chapter. Never heard of 5 to get in, of 15 to gwet in. The cross on the shield was never meant to be a religious symbol, it is to honor a brother who was killed in military action. The red eye of the Centaur has a reason, that is very benign. Also Iota has a strict No Hazing policy, we are one of the few organizations that have never been litigated for hazing, he should have gone to his campus advisor if he felt unsafe. I could go on and refute each point individually but I am not a writer. Let me say I have no problem with him leaving the Fraternity, he's not the first and won't be the last. If his spirit is lead to leave fine. I have no problem with him renoucing Iota, that is his choice. My problem is mischaractizing the tenets and symbols of the fraternity, and making it sinister. Go forward in your journey young man. I hope you find what you are looking for.

My cousin pledged Iota at Wiley. I have forwarded him denoucing videos and he never replies about it. I pray he will. This video was needed and thank you for speaking on it.

I personally have a story about how I almost pledged Iota. It’s wild hearing your testimony because my interest for joining was similar to yours. But by God’s grace and intervention, I didn’t pledge. Knowing what I know now about BGLOs, I’m so glad he kept me and that He also delivered you.

do the colors of these organizations have meaning... if so what do they mean? or what about their calls... I notice that they get so mad if you wear their color combo (look at you pink and green) and say they're calls (delta) to the point that they want to fight you. They have meaning. As I research more in the spirit(some of)these colors seem to be representative of the 12 tribes. Do not quote me on this because I am not entirely sure just yet.

Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life. He died on the cross carrying the burden of our sins. He gave his life for us making us a purchased possession and seen as perfect in the eyes of the Father. He gave us the gift of eternal life. You chose if you want to accept that gift and be a part of the body of Christ or rebel and make Him your enemy.

I think accountability for something that took place in HIS CHAPTER, not the entire org, is the issue, not religion. He stated that he wasn't following or being obedient to his Bible. This is weird. Y'all are killing me with this foolishness. Just say that Fraternity or Sorority Life wasn't for you. The scripture hasn't been manipulated in any way, shape, or form. There aren't spirits in Iota that attached themselves to you. I definitely can't speak on his process or journey in or out of Iota, but the fact that both of you are twisting this to fit your narrative is wild. Just state that you weren't cut out for the task. When y'all play with GOD as such to speak your interpretation that HE spoke to you and "revealed" to you that all of these reasons to not be an Iota. You stated you weren't financial just leave it there. You were making the choices you were making because that was what you wanted to do. I respect the fact that you both left your respective organizations, but this platform is trash. I see nothing that is revealing to the words that either of you are speaking outside of the fact that it wasn't for you and you should have left it there. I fell into spiritual wickedness due to my lack of knowledge and disobedience ignoring the convictions because I didn't know the word.

Yes. I was lukewarm claiming Christ while openly disobeying His teachings. I thought I was saved because I believed just like many others. Once you truly cultivate that relationship with the LORD your perception and perspective of the world should change. It is ok to come to Him in sin but to stay that way is direct disobedience and it grieves the Holy Spirit.

My experience in the fraternity was actually wonderful. However in seeking Christ things had been revealed to me on a much deeper level. Things that my worldly mind and point of view did not see. Looking at these practices through a biblical view they are not in line with Christ.

I am an Iota, and have NEVER heard something so off in my life. A better assessment would be acknowledging that this brother is a weak minded individual. Not even from a place of insult, but here's why:
1. Iota is not a religious organization. We believe in God and each man is responsible for his own journey, just as the Christian Bible says: "...show THYSELF approved." If you are leaning on a social service organization in order to manifest a relationship with God, YOU are YOUR OWN enemy.
2. A lot of the things you described are NOT a part of the process. You admitted to not understanding all of what you should have been proactively seeking to understand... for yourself. You made up a lot of that stuff for 51 minutes of social media attention.
3. Several of our founders are still living. Have you ever reached out to either of them to gain some type of knowledge of who they were and/or if their views aligned with yours on your journey? I'm willing to bet that you haven't. How many conclaves have you attended? How many younger brothers (Iota AND non-Iota) have you helped navigate through the collegiate life?
As an Iota and a Strong believer in Christ I stand by this statement wholeheartedly
To be honest I didn't want to believe what I was receiving. I rejected the thoughts and convictions of the Holy Spirit countless times. I couldn't believe the mysteries of what He was revealing to me either. But I stopped and listened. I did my research and I moved in accordance with the word of God and not on my own fleshly or worldly will and desires.
I am willing to stand firm before any iota man, living founders included, and testify of the King of kings Jesus Christ.
In the battle of spiritual warfare it is possible to go in to covenant and agreement with deities both knowingly and unknowingly. All of us/you who were once apart/still involved with these organizations have/had "unknowingly" accepted spiritual bondage and allow(ed) access of your vessel to spiritual wickedness. Seek freedom from the only one who can provide it. The fact that you even saw this is clear sign He is trying to reach you.

My reason for reaching out in regards to a one on one was to literally compare the word of God with the rituals found in the Iota handbook so there would be no misunderstanding or him feeling like I was adding to the word of God. You too have the same opportunity so let's have the conversation

Jesus is your brotherhood. He's the Alpha and Omega. "Behold...my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, is my brother..." (Mark 3: 34-34).
Remember, satan distorts everything Holy that God creates. So "brotherhood" outside of Jesus Christ is brotherhood with satan. I pray that Holy Spirit cuts through the illusions so that you are able to see God's truth. Jesus loves you and wants you to be in fellowship/brotherhood with Him.🙏
