Not one for single use rulers or gadgets, however this is genius and I absolutely need one! In fact, the only reason I stayed away from making a jelly roll rug was because I didn't want to mess with ironing the strips in half and half again. Thanks for sharing!
Your patience and thoroughness is all to our benefit! I just love how your goal is to teach, not to dazzle us with everything you know. Thank you so much!
I just recently purchased this tool and it’s really a game changer… WOW! After sewing all my 2.5” strips into one looooong piece, it only took a steady afternoon or maybe a bit more to make my rope ❤️❤️❤️ I’m making round jelly roll rugs for my three grandsons and this tool really cut my prep time in half 👏👏👏
I have made numerous jelly rugs. I have never used an iron on any of them. After making several I found a "folder" tool at a sewing show from Australia. I have used this tool since then and it does make it easier to fold and sew. HOWEVER- this tool looks much easier to use with way more accurate results! I will be purchasing one of these!! Thanks for showing this tool and you make it look so easy
Thanks Laura. 2 questions: Might you demonstrate a couple of ways to use that finished fabric tube? And, what is the name of that Riley Blake jelly roll? It's adorable!
I used this for the first time today. It is an amazing item that makes the job of creating fabric tubes so easy. A couple of hints: Make sure you clean out the "fluff" that accumulates in the bobbin case before and after doing this. I had my bobbin tie up and it was because there was fluff in the case. Since I am lazy I joined my pieces of fabric straight across after cutting off the salvage. I then did NOT iron the seams open. As I worked and found the seam coming up I used clips to spread the seam apart and clipped it to the batting. I removed the clips just as the fabric went through the first part of the maker. I did use my walking foot and slowed the stitch rate as well as used a longer stitch. Now I have a large ball of tubing waiting to be sewn into a rug. I think I may use some Christmas fabric and make candle mats for presents using the tube maker. I made a zippered bag from fabric tubes that I made without this tool and the difference is amazing. Thank you Clover for this great item.
I really liked what you did - very detailed - but I agree with two other people would appreciate if you could show some projects to do with the roll and also if this tool can help with the binding strip - thanks
Super notion, Laura. And your demo is awesome - as always. Clover makes the best notions! Thank you - always. Merry Christmas to you & your loved ones🫶✂️🪡🧵🎄
Wow what an amazing tool. So great of you to bring it to our attention and show how it works. Never was interested in making a rug or something like this but you have changed my mind. Now I can have a quilt with a coordinating rug, interesting. Thanks Laura! Happy Holidays
Thank you sooo much for introducing me to the Clover Tube Maker. It is AWESOME! Made my first rug, but it's not laying flat without help...may take it apart and redo it...
Hello Laura, this is a great product, I am wondering if you can make bias binding with this. That would make it so easy. Thank you for another special tutorial.
Can you use the larger section to create binding for quilts. Meaning to place the fold on the left or right side pull the fabric in to create the fold then press with an iron? Will this help with matching up the raw edges?
Wow! So cool. Please now show us what we can make with the completed tubes. Thanks
Best tip for me was how Laura trimmed the seam after sewing the strips together!

Very nifty way of doing this. Time saver. Joyous gadgets you find. Now.. what to make out of this??
Wooooowwwww! Thanks for the demo!
This is very interesting. I would like to know if there is a way to attach a quilt binding with the wadding in it using this tool.
Hello Laura, this is a great product, I am wondering if you can make bias binding with this. That would make it so easy. Thank you for another special tutorial.
I would like to know also..😊
I was wondering that too. Or making lanyards faster. Does it work with thinner fabric layers.
good question, I will have to test it out
They have a really cheap kit with all the things you need to make binding and there are 4 different sizes to use.
❤ that is a neat tool, who knew!!
Fantastic, thank you ☺️
Very cool thank you Laura🎉
Oh i could make pillows with a fabric tube and small lap blankets. ❤
Can you use the larger section to create binding for quilts. Meaning to place the fold on the left or right side pull the fabric in to create the fold then press with an iron? Will this help with matching up the raw edges?
That was what I was thinking too - I hope there is an answer 😊
I will have to try it out
That looks so easy! Thanks for sharing 😊 will you be putting a project using the tubing on soon?
Thank you for this vídeo
Would you use a walking foot still using 3.5 SL?
Where was this when i needed it???? I bought something similar that didnt work. Getting one!
Please show what we can make with the tubes
Boa noite, sou do Brasil, gostaria de comprar esse produto não estou conseguindo, pode me ajudar?
What is the advantage to sewing strips together at an angle? Is it any stronger?
Awesome!
What brand of cotton thread do you use?
I wonder if this could be used with clothesline rope❓
will need to test that out
Very cool!
What size is family? Newsletter please
FTM
If you cut you batting how so you sew it together
Can't we just use our bias maker notions? This is nifty but doesn't really seem any different. What am I missing? Thank U!
What is the tape you have on your machine bed you lined up the strips on ?
Diagonal sew tape. Any sewing store (or Amazon). Not expensive and helps to keep an “eye” n your angle as you stitch
Laura, is the stitch a zig zag? Thanks for video - u made it look so easy!
Straight ,lengthened to 3.5 and use a denim needle. Happy Sewing😀
not just a straight stitch
@@joycewilson3787 thank you:)
did you use 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 jelly roll
All jelly rolls are 2 1/2 inches.
What's the name of this tool?because I'm in China
Fab ❤❤
Posso comprare
That’s amazing. I love the notion videos. Thanks Laura.
