    For real, this is one of the better versions I’ve seen. His shouting sells it. The stage directions literally say “Todd’s insanity . . . explodes finally.” Very few performances show a raw rage dump like this guy captures.

    This guy is almost perfect. He has so much control over his voice and body language! I cannot believe he's only a teenager...

    This guy was actually pretty good, taking some cues from the Master of Sweeney, George Hearn.

    fucking love how crazy his acting is. he put himself into that character better than the actors in other broadway productions. he's gonna make it on tv one day if he isn't already

    I wish I could have seen this performance in person. He conveys emotion into his singing so well.

    Oh my GOD.
    That was amazing! I would rather see him perform than George Hearn, truly! That was so emotional and well-acted; he really delivered the lines like the words spontaneously poured out of his mouth the moment he thought them. He actually put an emphasis on specific words, not just the longest/strongest notes. Also, he captured the manic air of someone who's just given up on *everything;* he portrayed a man so devastated that suddenly the whole world seemed like one big black joke.

    Very good performance of a not-at-all easy piece. I'm impressed.
    Oh, and on an unrelated note--does anyone else think this guy's high notes sound a lot like Hugh Jackman, or was that just me?

    no shit that's a movie with a soundtrack recorded and edited and taking hundred of takes instead of just winging it on stage for one time. and they're also legit professional crazy actors and being directed by tim burton so yeah cut them slack

      Plus these teens’ performance actually seems to be better than the movie, both singing and acting wise.

    @pogo506 NSB is actually an abbreviation for Coral Springs Center for the Arts Next Stop Broadway (NSB) Camp. It's a fantastic performing arts camp in Coral Springs Florida, that showcases the amazing talent of many South Florida children and teens in a variety of Broadway shows.

    I hate when they sing and go like LONG GA GA GA GA. I want it to sound like Johnny Depp lol but its good

    • @tearoses9940
      @tearoses9940 4 года назад +1

      If you go into a play expecting the actor to do exactly what another actor did, and are just going to compare the actor to your favorite, then you’re not going to get any enjoyment out of it. Not to mention, Johnny Depp is a movie actor. You’re expecting stage actors to perform a piece the same way a screen actor would, that doesn’t work. (Also the thing you’re describing is actually a *good* vocal technique, and is how it’s supposed to be sung for the most part. Depp had no singing experience, and honestly just sounded like a weird pirate, singing from his throat rather than from his diaphragm).
