Having been through Hurricane Opal back in 1995 was horrific, and I was in Atlanta when she came through. We had a wind gust of 101 mph at our house in Stone Mountain, Georgia. we couldn't sleep, and I still had to report to work all that week and into the next, and we had no power. Our call center temperature got up to 95 DGs, and I had to go home early one afternoon with heat exhaustion. The lights and computers were running, and even the fans they set up just pushed hoter and hoter air around. We were afraid the backup generators would run out of fuel, but they didn't. It took nearly a week to get our power back!
