  • That part that broke off and fell is part of that whole plastic assembly. Probably need to replace that whole plastic assembly or glue it back on or improvise that door.

Pretty much. And the way it's constructed felt kind of flimsy from the get go-the achilles heel of that microwave.

Listening to you mumble and break the piece you are trying to fix. Way to go.

Same issue on my unit. Looks like a weak point and very poor design. To repair would mean the entire control panel housing would need to be replaced. Maybe a $150 part?

    • @hyperspaceexplorer5594

The current listed price is around $165.17 for the parts assembly. But I think it is still worth fixing. Home Depot lists a brand new unit for $249.

New button won’t do you any good if you did break that top prong off. The top and bottom hold it in place!!!

Need this part number to replace the panel assembly ACM75218726 or just the panel ACM75218802.

@@hyperspaceexplorer5594 Thanks for the video. That is crazy.. $124 plus shipping. I've got the same microwave w/the same issue. I'm wondering if that broken part is something you can glue.. but then, do they make a glue that will actually work on that plastic? Other than the engineering on that button it's been a good microwave. Have you figured out a solution yet?

@@markmaske5227 The only solution I am considering is replacing the whole panel. Using a glue might not be good in the long run. And I am not comfortable using glue.

I have not been able to get back to it. Currently, it's on storage. But, I did managed to find the parts store for it.

Where you able to get back and fix this issue? Having similar issue with mine now..

I have not. It is still in the box on storage. But the replacement is straightforward assuming you have the tools for it.

@@flipdub Double check the model number of your microwave before ordering replacement parts as well as if you have the necessary tools to do the job.
If you want to replace including the board, door push button release, and the button release spring, then you can buy the part number ACM75218726 - it is the item# 2004 on the parts diagram.
If you want to replace only the panel (you will be re-using the existing board and door push button release plus the spring), then you can buy the part number ACM75218802 - it is the item# 2381 on the parts diagram.
