thank you for sharing i am a big fan of alternative and affordable housing in kenya i have also been doing a lot of research on this in the next 1 month i will do my show room rammed house and probably have some training for some few people in the village i will also involve my mason. i have experience and constructed our parents house using interlocking bricks which i made at our compound using the machine that i bought , interlocking bricks uses almost the same concept but bricks are pressed in a small area .the comparable cost of rammed earth with interlocking bricks is far way below so i would definitely go for rammed earth i cant wait to teach people how to do good houses in the village......we need to get rid of poorly constructed mud house and demystify this notion that building a house is expensive.

Yes, but not entirely. Mix it with a little bit of marram and other mixed soils.
