Saw this with my own eyes one day, back in the day. Today I told my 9 and 12 yr old nieces that the biggest rock they saw on their visit to Yosemite, yeah they knew the one, this woman was the first to climb it with her own hands and feet only, no help from the equipment. They liked that. Thanks Lynn!
Jonny Copp on the flute along with Tres Altman and Timmy O'Neill on percussions. I love that the recording, too! It was not rehearsed and captured beautifully
Hi Lynn, we're about to film an episode where we analyze Midnight Lightning and were wondering if we could have your permission to use this footage in the video (with credit, of course). Please let us know :) thanks!
Hi Hooper, I am about to launch a video about climbing technique and i will also be using this footage to analyze what I'm doing. What are you doing with you video analysis? Where is it distributed and are you charging money for this service?
@@LynnHillClimbing Hello! Thanks for the response. Our channel is primarily about educating climbers on training and injury rehab/prevention. We also do a series called "Anatomy of the Climb" where we analyze the technique and anatomical structures needed to make certain moves. Here's an example of our most recent Anatomy of the Climb episode with Dan Beall: ruclips.net/video/C2e1jb3omlc/видео.html . All our content is free; we won't be marketing it or selling it in any way, although we do make a small amount off the RUclips ad revenue depending on how many views it gets (perhaps around $50-100 in total). It won't be distributed anywhere other than RUclips and we usually take a 1-minute clip of the final video to post on our Instagram channel. We always provide credit to the RUclips channels that allow us to use their footage, but if it'd be helpful we could also mention your upcoming video to spread the word. I'm sure a lot of people (myself included!) will be excited to see that!
@@LynnHillClimbing We'll be filming the episode tomorrow (Sunday) morning, so if you can let us know before then that'd be great! If not we of course won't use the footage.
some of the best climbling ive ever seen. this style will most likely be lost within the next ten years. crazy how different people climb this boulder now.
climbing only static has already been lost, good thing too..dynamic used to be frowned upon, people are much stronger than they used to be because of dynamic movement, you can't do everything static its impossible.
I agree, I was recently chatting with a friend about this when watching older climbing vids. It seems more climbers had more control and better style of their climbing kinesthetic vs. the majority of insta vids I see today.
I saw her boulder once in the late 1980's at Hueco Tanks, TX. She was flawless. Then she stopped by the quansit hut where the climbers stayed, looking for beta from Todd Skinner. I was in awe
Thumbs up for using less energy then a nap. that appeared effortless.
man she made that mantle move so smooth. masterful.

Best ever. All that style.
And thumbs up for replacing that annoying, rude dude commenting when Lynn got to the top with such good taste in music.

Amazing Lynn, perfect execution, love for the eyes
Only cuts feet on her terms. Total badass.
The legend herself showing how it's done.

Hi Lynn, did you ever launch the climbing technique video you mentioned in your earlier comment? I would love to see it and your commentary.

so nice! what's that music?
She made it look like a V3
did you even have to try?
Awsome. No crashpad 😳. When was this?
Not sure of the year but she did have crashpads (1:10-1:11)
@@parzivalgaming3220 You are correct. A small one😄. Crashpads started being used early 90s. The Boreal shoe model points to mid 90s. My guess
From what I’ve read she first did Midnight Lightning in 1998, but idk when this video is
First female ascent of it as well

Thumbs up if you are here from Hooper's beta to see the drop knee
Perfect elegance compared to Adam Ontra‘s Style.
great.
at 0:38 you can see how big the hold is for her tiny hands....but anyway, on the other side she has to do more moves due to her smallness.
