    Growing up in Manchester in the 70s and 80s, these were just the absolute dog's bollocks. When I was at high school as a feckless 14 year old in 1983, these were £29.99; an unimaginably large sum for me at the time. Gazelles weren't much cheaper, and Adidas Kick-basically your entry level trainer into the world of street shoes-were £14.99, which my mum paid for my 15th birthday with much humphing and grumbling. But I always wanted a pair of Sambas. Fast forward to the present day and I play in a Britpop band in Australia; my default choice of stage footwear is always the Samba or the Gazelle. I genuinely think no man who grew up in the NW of England should be missing either shoe in his wardrobe.

    I am considering getting a pair but am torn between the Blue Suede and this Black Leather pair, how's the comfort on these, is there a break-in period for the leather on these to become comfy the more you wear them?

    Worn them all my life. Remind me of the 80s Adidas Kick❤Look great and super comfortable. Just off to the shoe store to buy another pair🙂£59

    Picked these up the other day, the build quality was fantastic but that lack of cushioning just isn't for me. Shame cause I absolutely love the look, but especially compared to other classics like AF1s or Stans it's just lacking in that area, probably since these came from the boot. Still a good cheap footy boot, but better at that than being a casual trainer

    • @PatrickT
      @PatrickT  2 года назад

      Yeah defo agree. You have to like that flat footed feel to rock these like converse. But if you’re kicking ball, these are the ones.
      Thanks for watching and commenting. Really appreciate it 👊🏾

    Ordered some Samba OGs, nearly had a stroke when I seen these in the box 😂🤣 no offence but I ain’t a fan of these at all, sent them back swiftly and got my OG sambas, to me they are the ones. Not only old school but can rock dem with anything.

    • @PatrickT

      How you doing man? If you get access to European sites you should try Size? Or FootPatrol. If not try the Adidas website. I know they’re available on the UK website here. Hope that helps

    Being a footballer I’ve had 20 pairs of these classics from 1985 and still have a pair to play 5 -aside in now .
    Every bloke my age round our way has had a pair but I’ve gotta say the quality of the samba these days is utter crap !!!
    Leather is coated with plastic film , heel tears inside within. Months and the soles comes away so easily ( glued my latest pair 3 times now )
    They used to be made in France / Germany , they’re now made in a bamboo hut in Taiwan hence the crap !!! So sad cus they would be you school shoe and your training shoe that would take a battering 😮😥
