It took three years, but Lexus finally is bringing its hybrid technology to the LX flagship #4x4 #suv based off the #toyota #landcruiser ... Is it the same powertrain as the #iforcemax ?
While maintaining the concept of "easy and high-quality driving on any road in the world," this is the first LX to be electrified.
A new hybrid system for harsh environments that embodies "an electric vehicle that can go anywhere and come back alive"
Further pursuit of the unique Lexus driving experience, "Lexus Driving Signature," on-road or off-road
The "OVERTRAIL" model is now available, featuring exclusive equipment and interior and exterior colors based on the ideas of the LEXUS OVERTRAIL PROJECT.
Lexus announced the LX700h on Thursday, October 10th, which is a partial improvement of the LX and is equipped with a new hybrid system, a first for Lexus. The LX700h is scheduled to be released in various regions from the end of 2024.
Since its founding in 1989, Lexus has always maintained a spirit of innovation and has continued to take on the challenge of providing new technologies and value to its customers. As we strive to realize a carbon-neutral society, we will continue to provide a variety of options to meet the needs of customers around the world, with the desire to make the lifestyle shared with beloved cars more enjoyable and enriching.
The LX is a flagship SUV that combines the driving performance required for driving on any road in the world with the high-quality ride quality that is characteristic of Lexus, based on the concept of "Easy and high-quality driving on any road in the world". Currently, it is popular with a wide range of customers in over 50 countries around the world.
On the other hand, it is the only model in the Lexus lineup that does not have an electric vehicle option.
With the introduction of the LX700h, Lexus has developed a new parallel hybrid system that prioritizes maintaining the reliability, durability, and off-road performance that the LX has cultivated for generations, even in an electrified vehicle. In addition to achieving the driving experience that is characteristic of Lexus by making the most of the motor torque, in terms of environmental performance, annual CO2
emissions during vehicle use have been reduced more than ever before for all global vehicles.
By improving the basic features, including the engine model, we have further raised the level of the driving experience unique to Lexus, "Lexus Driving Signature." In addition to refining the "interactive driving" that responds without delay to the driver's operations, the safety equipment has been updated to the latest Lexus Safety System + (LSS+) to provide a safer and more secure ride.

Glad to see they updated it. Was looking into one and the lack of massaging seats in the front was a huge bummer and that small 7” MID was not it. Correct if I’m wrong but with this update, that means the LX joins the club of very few vehicles to offer 3 locking diffs?, I can only think of the G-Wagen, Jeep Wrangler and Land Rover Defender off the top of my head. Thats pretty cool

From what I’m reading on the Lexus press release Kirk the overtrail has addition of front and rear locking diffs not just rear locker
All of the Toyota off-road versions should have a front locker, but 🤷🏻♂️

I’m hoping Lexus also makes the range of these cars better. This should easily get 500-600 miles with a hybrid system and larger fuel tank.
Born and raised in south Florida. Wife grew up on Key Biscayne. Grandparents went through the 1926 hurricane in Miami. In 2004 retired and moved up to the Village’s north central part of the state hoping to get away from hurricanes like Andrew, etc. Well everything seems to have shifted up our way! We are fine from Milton, just far enough north of it to miss the worst. Glad you and your family are okay. I commend you for continuing to put out content under these conditions. I understand Toyota/Lexus being conservative with the LX/ LC300 and using the Tundra/ Sequoia to launch the hybrid then use the last 3 years to resolve any issues with the set up… I was however hoping that once the engine did make it into the LX/LC300 they would bring an upgrade version using newer batteries etc… from what you say it doesn’t appear to have
Tundra uses a NiMH and this is using Lithium Ion. I’m not sure which battery the Sequoia uses.

The Overtrail has 3 Diff-locks, centre, rear and front, making it the most prepared off roader in the Toyota lineup for the USA. This Overtrail model is equivalent to the Land Cruiser 300 GR, which also has the 3 diffs.
Except overtrail only is center and rear locked. No front locker

I want an 3rd row GX Overtrail + but that's never going to happen so this new LX Overtrail with an optional 3rd row sounds like a great option. Assuming the U.S. does get the triple lockers, it's a huge upgrade over the previous model year LXs from this generation.

I thought they’d bring the first facelift to this and the LC300 to bring them up to date on tech and styling… maybe that’ll happen for the MY26 model. A stretched wheelbase by 6-8 inches would also be awesome
@@MrDudleytheCat LX is a world class luxury SUV and miles better than the escalade in every level. Just because escalade has more space don't mean its the better vehicle. That's like saying a escalade is better than a g class all because its bit a bigger we are talking about luxury SUVs and not not normal non luxury full size SUVs.
You have no idea what the Land Cruiser represents. The wheelbase is what it is for perfect off-road capability. A longer wheelbase would ruin it.
I am not sure what percentage of LX owners really go off roading. To me, most these capabilities are more appropriate for GX and LX should offer more refinement and luxury, such as longer wheelbase and more room inside, pano roof, larger multimedia screen and extras like massage seats, etc.

Lexus has to invest in a next gen EV LS if Audi is planning an A8 E Tron and LS still sells slightly better than A8, G90, and Quattroporte

i remember years ago when you speculated the LX700h would have the TTv8 setup. If only that came to fruition...
Overtrail model is just what the doctor ordered in that color is Killer. Not having a split tailgate will really be hard pill to swallow when I upgrade from the LX570 - we use that split all the damn time. Only other wish was for a plug-in hybrid. Even if it was like 20 miles of range, that would be pretty amazing for around town and doing camping things. This all sounds promising otherwise, specifically that they seem to look to making things reliable and redundancies. Also updating the interior screens is fantastic. Would have loved to have the traditional shifter though. Plug-In Hybrid is also proving to be very reliable in times of hurricanes, speaking of florida. A guy posted on reddit how he was using his Rav4 Prime essentially as a generator for emergency use, 1500w was giving him fridge and lights.
The Expedition is going to the split tailgate now. I’m sure Lexus will bring it back in the future as it becomes popular again.

Yeah, split tailgate is tough to give up and I kind of like my mechanical shift H-L transfer case. I’m sure I’ll be able to adjust. 700H overland looks pretty sweet!!

I don't know if they'll do that; it doesn't sell great without discounts and it's their flagship sedan. The LS500 is flawed.

LX gets a excellent update and this hybrid version is something they should have offered from the start as well ❤. LX is a excellent flagship full size luxury Suv and only the Range Rover defender 130 G class GLS and X7 is better.

Would a plug in model be cool as well…yes. That said when it comes to EVs and Plug in Hybrids I’m kinda scared of those right now. Seems there’s multiple manufacturers that have had this happen and as someone who would for sure park in the garage I don’t want my house going up in flames because of car.

PHEV LX would be OP and unprecedented. There is no massive PHEV SUV and especially no massive off road capable SUV.
I think it's trying to pack too much into one vehicle at once. Hopefully by 2027.
After driving an electric car, I can’t honestly go back to gas. I like Honda and Acura cars, but man, once you drive electric, going to anything else is so hard. Except if you’re rich, then anything is on the table!
This is a complex machine. It's gonna be hard to believe that this is gonna eventually be as reliable as lx 570

This is it! Lol. The closest thing I'll ever get to the 300 Series GR Sport in North America! The LX 700h Overtrail will have an added front AND rear locking differentials! Lol It showed the buttons here in your video. I have the GX 550 Overtrail, but my dream rig has always been the 300 Series GR Sport, or the LX 600 model my brother owns in Japan, with 3 locking differentials lol. The 700h Overtrail is my GR Sport! I love my new GX 550, but it isn't a 300 Series GR Sport, with a Lexus badge, and hybrid battery power for camping lol. I am excited about this news!

LX700h is designed for maximum power performance and for better emissions. Seriously who is going to care about mpg with a vehicle like the LX

Everything is great when it’s brand new. Lexus, Mercedes, Infinity, Audi, BMW. However all that engineering comes at a great cost for maintenance. There is no escaping it. Complexity creates maintenance challenges and costs. These brands will always be for the exclusive market.
The over trail lx 700h also add a front locker.
I've been waiting for this version since the release of the LX 600 I'm doing it.
I wish there was a media controller on this. They should bring back the touchpad or create a new wheel controller like in the Genesis or BMWs.
How in the world are they packaging the 3rd row seats with the battery in the back?
It needs a Hybrid and needs the updates in the Lexus Engine new back up tech and Gets tweaks that build the subtle strength of the brand again to what it needed to be. Front massage seats, the gauge cluster now digital, updated Power base for Watts and charging. The strength and reliability with the new LX features will help this car "hold court" well. Lexus are becoming more and more well know for reliability ad Hybrid Excellence. The car had to reach this high water mark to be exposed or on the radar of the key people/clientèle who will genuinely be interested in it.
Its a GREAT buy really against the competition.

Lexus needs not only make a hybrid for the LX, they also need to update the interior dash layout, Panoramic roof, stretch it about 4-5 inches to compete with Infiniti and all the American Full size SUVs.
LX is miles better than the QX80 and overrated American rivals in every level. LX has a extremely luxurious interior with Great comfort refinement luxury and more. LX is based on the land cruiser 300 series so it would cost them too much money to add something for one single market. importantly LX has better power performance interior design comfort luxury and more compared to the unnecessarily screen overload loaded interior of the QX80 and american rivals
