      Idk what this other guy is saying, I’ve used the cheaper wheels on GT7 and it’s a joke. You definitely get what you pay for. You don’t need to buy a shitty wheel just to spend more money later for a DD, you’re allowed to just get the nice wheel from the start.

    • @asheleydavies
      @asheleydavies Год назад +2

      Hey dude. I understand that feeling to wait till the other brands release the hardware you want, but just remember that it's not really the equipment that makes you a fast racer, it's just important that you get on a wheel and off a controller sooner rather than later, because it takes a LONG time before you get good on a wheel, being on top end DD hardware really doesn't make a big difference to a beginner. I started on a G29, then went to T300, a huge upgrade in my experience, then I went to TGT2 with loadcell pedals. My friend has the GTDD pro with boost pack and loadcell, honestly the smoothness of the DD is lovely but I don't feel like the belt driven TGT is holding me back at all, its more about just putting in the endless laps, and I feel like the loadcell pedals are mostly the main aspect to going quick. I'm also looking forward to seeing where the Thrustmaster and moza go with their new console hardware. Hope to see you on the track.

  • @bwx_gaming

    This is a super nice product from Logitech but I'm happy with my Fanatec GT DD Pro 8nm and CSL / load cell brake pedals (CSL Elite v2 pedals in the mail!). I remember back when the G25 was the big new thing, and I used that for years and years. This G Pro wheel is on another level, but 8nm is plenty of force for me, 11nm would be wasted on me I think, I'd probably turn it down most of the time at least in GT7. I bet I'd like the softer brake of the G Pro pedals too, the CSL load cell is too firm and doesn't have enough travel for me. I liked my old CSR (CSR, not CSL) Elite load cell brake better. 🤷‍♂

      BTW since that OG comment 3 weeks ago (I'm "BWX Gaming"), I got used to the CSL brake and started to like it a lot.. then I got the CSL Elite V2 pedals and the brake felt way too squishy and "muddy". So I switched to black spring and 85/ 75/ 65 elastomer stack and it feels really good, but still not as crisp and firm as the CSL with load cell. But it has more adjustment to go firmer and it's a lot nicer pedal set in general.

    Damn Logitech priced me out of this one. My TGT2/T-LCM combo will do for a few more years until this comes way down. True force sounds like a similar effect to the T-DFB on the TGT2 so I'm very happy for now.

      I have both the TGT2 and the DD Pro. The pro is on a whole other level..so much better FF (even on PS4). The TGT2 also has this weird feeling where there is less FF effects when holding the wheel steady in a corner. I still enjoy it for the th8a shifter and the rally wheel.

I've watched so many YT reviews for the two rigs in the last few weeks and remained conflicted - so thank you, now I can get on with ordering it! The only thing I'm concerned about is the manual shifter - I'd liek to use my modded TH8a but with the proprietary ecosystem I guess this is not possible - is there a good (or any?) alternative at all?
    Oh and BTW, if you think it's expensive in the US, try buying it in Australia - it's even more expensive as we get totally ripped off with all technology down under. But I want to buy something decent for the next few years so I guess I'm paying the premium. Man the new meta is complaining that the Logitech setup is too expensive. Like idk if you guys have seen the price of a Fanatec DD + pedals, but what Logitech has here is a competitive piece of kit at a competitive price. Plus it’s actually in stock unlike Fanatec which has been out of stock for months.
    I’m also saying this from a GT7/console perspective, Im sure when it comes to PC the price concerns get more valid since there are way more options.

      This is mounted on an Obutto Revolution with the stock seat. No play in the wheel/pedal mount, but oddly some of the screw points on this G PRO didn't line up with the Logitech bolt pattern on this rig, so it's just screwed in with a single screw here. Still works though. Would definitely recommend the Obutto.

    Great review. I’ve been torn over Fanatec and Logitech g pro , for past year or so. I own g29 right now and kinda want Fanatec next but I’m in U.K. and Fanatec in Germany. So for less stress , I was just going to go with Logitech. I’m positive I’ll love the wheel, as I’m only used to g29 and I’m actually sure I’ll be happy with Logitech pedals, as I’m only used to those that came with g29 BUT just you and some others saying the pedals are not great, especially when compared to other brands, it really turns me off. I just don’t like the feeling that I’ll be wasting £350 on Logitech pedals. Saying that, I have the £1250 saved for Logitech setup and I might just buy the bullet and go for it. I’m so in love with sim racing that I want to buy other setups and I guess I could go with Fanatec in a year or 2 and be happy with Logitech offering. I just hope Logitech release more wheels. I mean, being quick release, suggests that of course they will release more wheels. Why release a quick release wheel, if you only giving 1 wheel? Then I’m like, but this has been out for about 1 year and still no wheels or shifter/handbrake. Like maybe Logitech just said , ah fuck it, 1 wheel will do.

      @@mrctuned2844 I’m just so torn. Was you not tempted by Fanatec? I almost saved enough £1250 for Logitech, I just don’t know if I should go for it. Do you know if Logitech have even stated that they will release any new wheels to go with wheel base? I can’t help think they may release 1 F1 wheel and leave it at that. If only I was able to try the Logitech. I’d only need 1 race in dirt rally or Wrc 10 to make up my mind.

    • @mrctuned2844
      @mrctuned2844 10 месяцев назад +1

      @grahamkelly8662 oh I was very very torn between the 2. What it came down to was do I want more force feedback strength or do I want TruForce... I went back and forth and I watched a few sim racers say they rarely went above 10nm with any wheel... so that sold me on the Logitech. I pre-ordered it and I was very pleased when I took it out of the box.
      I have to say, of all the little details that make it a truly great and well thought out wheel, the one I ended up loving the most was the 5 storable presets, accessible from the wheel itself. I love GT7 and this became a huge benefit for that style game. I have 5 presets (you can use a PC to name them and they never get erased from the base) for different styles of cars, and it makes it too easy to have fun in a game like GT7 where you go from a stock road car to a GT3 to a LMP1 car in a matter of minutes. For example, I have my presets as:
      Road car
      Performance/GT4
      GT3
      GT2
      Prototype
      And each of these have the dozens of settings saved under them so you can switch profiles in about 5 seconds. It's just awesome.
      The other thing I like is that at least in GT7, turned all the way up to 11nm you never get any clipping. It sort of maximizes the strength available so there is no wasting the available power. And maxed out it really does have power, holding long sweepers in a downforce car really makes you tired at the max setting.
      The only complaint I've had for the whole thing are the steel "feet" under the base which made it so it didn't line up with the holes on my rig. I actually just bent them a few times and broke them off, because my wheel will never not be bolted down. At the time I bought a new rig with the wheel so naturally the rig wasn't really made for the G Pro yet. That's my only complaint.
      If I had to do it all over again, I'd still buy the Logitech. I had no budget when I bought this one so I picked the one I wanted. The TruForce is worth it, in my opinion. I absolutely love my wheel, and probably won't need to ever replace it.

      @@mrctuned2844 have you tried gt7 in vr? I did and I wasn’t impressed. For some reason my wheel g29 won’t even work properly with gt7. It’s fine with dirt and Wrc thankfully. Not sure what the problem is. say I wanted to use 60% forcefeedback on the Logitech direct drive to start out, can I do that via wheelbase and not have to do so in game? I’m a little worried that I may break my hands or and arms with too high forcefeedback lol. Oh what rig do you have? I’m asking because you saying you had to snap off the feet on wheelbase. I currently have a gt omega Titan and probably going to upgrade to the Gt Omega Prime cockpit, for better customisability , in a year or so. Oh, are you buying the new Wrc 23? I might have to pick it up. Although I’m a bit hooked to Wrc 10 right now. I just hope ea don’t fuck this new rally game up.

Way too expensive, looks like 💩 compared to competition, lack of customisation, virtually no eco system and it's sounding like each base is locked to each console. This really raises the question who is this for? Fanatec on console and have a cheaper and better product. 2mn less but you have a full eco system and loads of modifications available. They're gonna struggle to sell this. If idiots like me are not interested, who's paying the big £££. I spent as much on my pc pedals. It's set at an enthusiast price level. But we're not interested.
