    Hindustan Copper Limited was incorporated on 9th November, 1967, as a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India, to ensure efficient mining of the country’s Copper resources on a sustainable basis.
    HCL has the distinction of being the only Copper mining Company of the nation, owning seven mining leases across the country. Conferred with the status of Miniratna Category -I, the Company has registered its presence across the entire value chain of copper with products acknowledged for their superior quality and reliability.
    Mining and Plant facilities
    • Malanjkhand Copper Project, Malanjkhand (Madhya Pradesh)
    • Khetri Copper Complex, Khetrinagar (Rajasthan)
    • Indian Copper Complex, Ghatsila (Jharkhand)
    • Taloja Copper Project, Taloja (Maharashtra)
    • Gujarat Copper Project, Bharuch (Gujarat)
    Malanjkhand Copper Project (MCP) at Malanjkhand, Madhya Pradesh
    • Established in 1982
    • Single largest Copper deposit of India
    • The Malanjkhand Copper Mine was working as Open Pit Mining with strike length of 2200m, maximum pit width of 650m and ultimate pit depth of about 240m. The open pit mine has been exhausted and is being converted into an underground mine.
    • The underground mine below the open pit has achieved the capacity of 2.5 Mtpa and further mine development is under progress to achieve the rated capacity of 5.0 Mtpa.
    • The existing capacity of beneficiation plant is 2.5 Mtpa.
    • Reserves and Resources as per UNFC (United Nations Frame Work Classification) as on 01.04.2023
    Malanjkhand Mine: 301.8 million tonnes @ 0.91% Cu (Underground Mines at MCP is currently under development stage with 5MTPA capacity)
    Khetri Copper Complex (KCC) at Khetrinagar, Rajasthan
    • Established in 1967
    • Mechanized underground mines namely 'Khetri and 'Kolihan' (Underground Mine)
    • Beneficiation plant with capacity 1.80 million tonnes per annum
    • Reserves and Resources as per UNFC as on 01.04.2023
    Khetri - Banwas Mine: 47.46 million tonnes @ 1.41% Cu
    Kolihan Mine: 15.21 million tonnes @ 1.21% Cu
    Chandmari Mine: 13.27 million tonnes @ 0.99% Cu
    Indian Copper Complex (ICC) at Ghatsila, Jharkhand
    • Established in 1930
    • Underground Mines: Surda, Rakha and Kendadih
    • Beneficiation Plant with 0.4 Million tonnes of current capacity
    • Primary Smelter & Refinery with 18,500 tonnes per annum cathode production capacity
    • Reserves and Resources as per UNFC as on 01.04.2023
    Surda Mine Lease: 34.77 million tonnes @ 1.00% Cu
    Kendadih Mine Lease: 56.68 million tonnes @ 1.16% Cu
    Rakha Mine Lease*: 229.26 million tonnes @0.85% Cu
    (to be operated soon through the appointment of Mine Developer and Operator)
    * Consists of Chapri, Rakha, Rakha NW and Tamapahar Blocks
    Taloja Copper Project (TCP) at Taloja, Maharashtra
    • Established in 1989
    • Plant with per annum production capacity of 60,000 tonnes of Continuous Cast Copper Wire Rods of diameter 8 mm, 11 mm, 12.5 mm, 16 mm and 19.6 mm based on technology sourced from South Wire, USA.
    • Currently operating in tolling mode from third party cathodes.
    • Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has granted license (No: CM/L 7800116010) to use ISI mark in the Continuous Cast Copper Rod produced at TCP under IS:12444:2020 standard for Copper Wire Rods for Electrical Applications.
    Gujarat Copper Project (GCP) at Jhagadia, Gujarat
    • The assets of Jhagadia Copper Limited (JCL) were acquired in 2015.
    • Plant with capacity to produce 50,000 MT of LME “A” grade Copper Cathodes annually through secondary smelting and refinery process.
    • HCL plans to sell / lease out the GCP operating facility.

    Products
    • HCL is currently focusing on the production and sale of Copper Concentrates.
    • Continuous Cast Copper Rods {8mm, 11 mm, 12.5mm, 16mm & 19.6 (+ 0.50) mm}, Conforming to ASTM B 49-98/IS-12444-88 Specifications, Copper Cathodes Conforming to LME “A” Grade Specification. HCL is currently focusing on utilizing the plant capacity through third party tolling of cathode.
