For everyone complaining about acceleration issues. Put it in sport mode and that will solve all your acceleration hesitation/merging issues. It makes a WORLD of difference and really brings that 290hp to life. I know i own one exactly like the vehicle in the video.
We just had a 2019 LX V6 AWD as a rental. It felt pretty nice. Quite quiet and rode very smooth. I agree when you say that it doesn't always have the eagerness or preciseness to know what gear it needs to be in when you get on it. Other than that, can't complain too much! The infotainment and overall layout of buttons is always intuitive with Hyundai/Kia so you're never left wondering where something is.
Put it in sport mode and that will solve all your acceleration hesitation/merging issues. It makes a WORLD of difference and really brings that 290hp to life.
I am glad we have a youtuber that reviews cars on every day roads. Especially Michigan Roads. If it can handle our roads well, then it's a good vehicle XD
Own a 2018 version of the Sorento SX-L. Very similar to the 2019 version with the major difference being the eight speed transmission versus the six speed in the 2018 version. Some comments. () Exterior Size and Interior Space. The "Goldilocks" size of the Sorento combined with highly efficient allocation of interior space was one of the main reasons my wife and I chose the Sorento. It's my wife's daily driver and at over 10 inches shorter than a Mazda CX-9, it's ideal for navigating urban/suburban traffic and slipping into parking spaces. At the same time, it offers more overall cargo space and more passenger space in each of the three rows of seats than the Mazda. For our family of 2 adults, a teenage daughter, and a big dog it's an ideal size for extended trips, as well. () Third row seating. Let's be frank. Other than perhaps the VW Atlas none of the "midsize" CUV's have third row seating suitable for extended trips with more than five passengers AND their gear. Nevertheless, the Sorento has more legroom in the third row than most of the competition including the much larger CX-9 and the Toyota Highlander. For chauffeuring a gaggle of teenagers or local trips with another family, it's very, very convenient. Especially when the alternative is taking two vehicles. We don't use the third row on a regular basis. But when we need it, it's a lifesaver. (If you NEVER need and don't want a third row, look at the nearly identical 2 row Hyundai Santa Fe.) () Naturally aspirated V6. The 3.3L naturally aspirated engine (290 HP/252 FtLbs torque) is smooth, quiet, and reliable. I like small displacement turbos in some applications. (I have a GTI.) But for a family SUV, I think a naturally aspirated V6 is a better choice. If I have any complaint I'd like to see peak torque at a somewhat lower RPM. But it's not a major issue. () Interior Quality and Features. The nearest competitor to the Sorento's SX-L's interior is the Signature trim of the CX-9. The top trim of the Mazda is very appealing. But the CX-9 lacks a panoramic sunroof and has a significantly inferior infotainment system. The Sorento's napa leather extending thigh cushion for the driver and features like a 110 volt power outlet in the second row and center differential lock are all in place and not matched by most of the competition. Finally, the Sorento's sound deadening is like driving from inside a vault. It's very, very quiet compared to the mainstream competition. () Warranty. Kia and Hyundai 10 year/100,000 mile warranties simply aren't matched by the competition. And having put about 80K miles on a 2012 Sorento without a single issue, I'm fairly assured about the new Sorento's reliability. () Price and Resale. I negotiated a price for our 2018 Sorento of $40,000 early this year before the 2019 models arrived. That amounted to a discount of nearly $8000 under MSRP. At the same time, I received a trade in value for my 2012 Sorento within $800 of the KBB estimate of the average for a Toyota Highlander, traditionally the vehicle with the highest resale value. Considering that discounts on Toyota vehicles are rare, that makes the KIA a far better value than I could negotiate for a Highlander.
Personally i don't care for it. It's almost like a poop brown color in the sun similar to the brown Subaru uses in there Touring trim models. I would have preferred a gray interior option along with the black for the SXL.
I just purchased a 2020 SX black on gray leather. Very attractive vehicle with all the amenities. However, i wish KIA had kept the quad "ice cube" style fog lights and with full LED's all around the vehicle. And also kept the ventilated seats and heated steering wheel along with the chrome alloy wheels the SXL got. I don't know what they were thinking getting rid of those features. The chrome wheels i can see perhaps they were getting scratches easily and it showed. But the heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, and LED lights should have stayed for the SX. Since it is now the top trim level.
Yes the dynamax system is VERY competent when you have that differential lock button pressed. It can get through heavy snow and muddy fire road with the right set of tires NO PROBLEM.
A really nice vehicle, beautiful exterior, good equipment for the price, good reliability, but I can't just help myself to think how depressing that center console looks, particularly for 40k. It looks like something from the mid 2000's
Kia/hyundai have really stepped their game up. So much value for the money, fantastic warranty, lots of stuff standard even in the base trims (blind spot monitoring, apple/Android auto)
Actually, the 3rd row has more room than the CX-9 and the Toyota Highlander. If you want a two row version of the Sorento it's the Hyundai Santa Fe. Same platform, almost exactly the same size and almost identical interior layout. The major difference is that the Santa Fe comes with a turbo 4 option versus the V6 in the Sorento.
They added the 3rd row because of federal regulations. If a SUV has a 3rd row then its classified as a truck. If the mpg is not upto par to government standards, manufacturers just add a 3rd row so the mpg will be compared to trucks instead of SUVs. True fact most dont know about
@@mituljariwala9821 Sorry, not true. Third row seating is not the criterion. Vehicle weight and AWD are the factors involved in determining whether a vehicle is classified as a light truck.
We have a ton of these (with the 2.4) at our rental lot, they are super nice. Love the heated steering wheel and heated seats especially since I'm in Canada, it gets cold! I've actually wanted you to test one of these for a while now, so happy to see this video!!
I think the 8 speed v6 was a better powertrain. The new 2.5 is powerful but its towing was cut in half. The DCT is fast but as shown overheats if offloaded. It's turned into a pavement runner even more.
Please do a Brz Drifting tutorial and heel toe downshift and rev match tutorial! Not many of those vids on youtube and I think you should make an amazing one!!! :D
Please what is the name of the two roof rack that attached to the roof , Has it become this new form and what is different from those that are not adjacent to the suv roofs?
i own a 2006 kia sorento and my mother owns the 2013 model. You what's funny? both air conditioning compressor failed within 2 years of owning it. Other than that, there are no problem with it. i wonder will the 2019's model compressor fail in 2 years too :)
My neighbor has this car it’s really nice and I think I should get one but not sxl v6 AWD and she just has the sxl v6 here is the top level as well but I think Hyundai and Kia is copying but I have the veloster rn from Hyundai
Nice car, definitely not worth 46k though. Probably about 30-34. 36k at the very most imo. There's nothing that sets it apart from the rest of the newer vehicles or even SUVs to justify 46k, that's way too expensive for this Kia.
This vehicle is a 1000 times better than that pathetic Toyota Highlander, with the exception of *RELIABILITY AND DURABILTY.* And I say that as a Toyota loyalist. And I'm a Toyota loyalist ONLY because of that! But Kia and Hyundai are catching up very rapidly in this area and they are not too far behind Toyota! That is exactly why I would seriously consider this vehicle. In every other aspect, the Sorento beats the Highlander. The Kia has a *BUTTER SMOOTH AND DEAD QUIET* engine and exhaust, whereas the Highlander has a *HARSH, UNREFINED, NOISY* engine that DRONES AND DRONES AND DRONES and it is VERY tiring on the ears!!. The Kia's ride comfort is also much more supple and absorbent than the Highlander (especially with the smaller wheels), making it a fantastic, supremely comfortable long distance tourer (and that's exactly the mission of a Luxury crossover! Not to canyon carve, and in the bargain feel every small bump in the road!! * rollseyes * ). And finally the top end Harmon Kardon in the Kia is significantly better sounding than the JBL in the Toyota! And it is almost a no brainer, because it comes with that 10 year / 100K mile warranty, even though I'm sure the Toyota would have better overall long term reliability and durability!
