I braid, and I'm telling you those braids in the reference photo and your braids weren't done by the same person. No matter what the size, the stitching would be the same. That's to say the least.

@@BaldheadNailtech I would, if the first row or at least the first three rows look nothing like the reference picture you need to start questioning the braider or back out. I’ve always done my own hair since middle school so I don’t know how it feels on the other side, but I always ask my clients if they like the size and parting of the braids, regardless of if they gave me a reference picture. People are charging too much nowadays to not get what you paid for.
@@BaldheadNailtech I don't think it matters if it's vertical or horizontal, or triangular parts etc, her problem is consistency and uniformity. At the very least the ones along the top center part should at least mirror each other on both sides. She had plenty of options to utilize so your hair could have some decent looking rows with similar sized parts. She could have pre-parted your entire head of hair, if she was so concerned, that way she could properly map out the parts, see issues with sizing, and fix it before putting a braid in. If the thickness of your hair was the main concern, that's even more of a reason to part it smaller (aka give you the actual size you requested) so she can manage it better, because I'm sure gripping those bigger parts was much harder. She also had the option of being upfront and saying she can't do the job, but instead she used you as an experiment. I would normally advocate for just not going back vs. not paying someone just to avoid conflict, but she blatantly did not do the job you requested, she'd be lucky if she got half of what she charged.

She did spray something on it, but she put big globs of edge control on the roots of my braids. It’s still sticky now I’m about to take it out now though. She also dipped it in water, but I don’t think the stove was on long and the braids, didn’t even feel warm.
Did you ever see the front of that picture? Cause you only saw the back , which definitely does not show all of her work… try getting In person recommendations and not online. Pictures are liars. People can steal pictures from other people.

She literally only gave me like five braids in the back. This stuff looks so bad I thought about keeping it up so I can get my moneys worth, but I’m going to probably take it out. They look so spaced out and people were staring at me yesterday because the braids were turning white around the root because of the amount of edge control she put in my hair.
