I actually think the bars with the teal top panel would be a beautiful guernsey & it holds more traditional value than the current Port jumper. But honestly Port are spoiled for choice with a terrific colour set & lightning themed designs.
Teal is actually my favourite colour and I find it disappointing how port Adelaide tends to try to hide that awesome colour. They should embrace it!!!!!
Oh yea I’m not saying they should go full on teal but what I mean is, they seem to want nothing to do with it. They should just accept it and embrace that it’s an awesome colour and they own it.

The teal yolk with black and white stripes look good. But I doubt AFL will allow black and white stripes. Fact. The back looks good. Though sometimes Port will need to move away from a white patch on a black back. I know its tradition, but clashes may prevent it and also the need to have a jumper that looks good and balanced.
Port should think about the pylons with the teal panel if they enter the vfl. I highly doubt they will be able to use the black and white, so why not embrace the teal?
The lightning bolt is good and they can play with the colours to switch between black teal white and silver as alternative jumper. Its a classic jumper design for a team called Power. The back of the jumper could be black, blue or teal with white patch to keep the tradition alive. Shorts can switch between colours too to avoid clashes and maintain the same jumper as much as possible.
The problem with grey and white is that Collingwood would say that it will be black and white before long. Also there is no teal and no black. Port has to compromise if they want any prison bar stripes. They have the chance to wear them most weeks but different to traditional 'Port. OR alternative is to wear them once a year. What do they prefer? No brainer. I think there may need to be blue teal and black stripes. Certainly Saints wore red black and white stripes in the early 2000s and Collingwood didn't whinge.
The tri panel lightning bolt is a classic design. But for me I would narrow the white lightning bolt and even consider having it down one side more (so a bit more black than blue - or vice versa). Now here is a whacky idea could use a lot of smaller lightning bolts to the side of it to give the impression of prison bar lightning bolts. While they aren't straight they'd get a prison bar look, its just the bars would be crooked! Remember if they want a prison bar look then it takes compromise.
I don't like the lightning jumper as much. But its almost as good as the lightning bolt. If smart they could go for black, with blue teal and white trimmings. Mix up the colours for merchandise. But certainly more teal is essential.
I think the V can be overdone and its time for change. Certainly it could be worse, but doesn't have tradition for Port and it appears a vanilla jumper. While striking it doesn't embrace the Power or the Magpie tradition. The lightning bolt is clearly the best they've had. Its subtle and there is flexibility. Ultimately, the black V jumper is in reaction to the Power jumper getting to glitzy and gimmicky, but they've reacted too hard. The jumper they have now isn't even traditional. At times they play with silver that isn't a Power or Magpie tradition.
Here is an important question. What will Port wear if there is an AFL reserves competition. I assume that Port would wear the traditional magpie jumper there. Would they seriously stop calling their AFL reserves team the magpies? Would they be allowed to be magpies and wear prison stripes in AFL reserves. That's all part of what their jumper will be too.
Freo is another with lacklustre Vees. then Brisbane Bears replace their original jumper with another boring V jumper prior to the Brisbane Lions. Hawks have a pathetic V jumper they wear.
Bad error from Kochie to choose the boring PA logo and the imposing but meaningless V jumper. they must embrace the teal. they must embrace the lightning bolt and logo. they must return their jumper to its lightning bolt traditions. If it can't be stripes then I think they need to go back to Power traditions. The lightning bolt is uniquely Power. It means Power. Its different. The jumper is flexible with playing with colours. Similarly Teal is unique and important for selling merchandise. Certainly the AFLW should have more teal. The lightning bolt jumper can then play with different colour combinations and wear blue black or white shorts depending on clash. It doesn't need to be lairy.
Port power is not port magpies. Port magpies doesnt exist anymore. Just as Woodville and West Torrens no longer exist. Fun fact. In South Australia if a state sports team cannot use its usual colours then they can use the alternative state colours, Black and White. As Collingwood are the first afl team to use blsck and whiur and called the magoies how can port clsim anothers volurs. Collingwood have alays neen blavk and white. Where as the other Ports original colours were never black and white or even the magoies. The other port team just vopied Newcastle United in england. Port Power are frauds.

The reality is they are port adelaide power and not port adelaide magpies, so the prison bars need to be discarded and forget about the link and heritage of the SANFL. This will sting a lot of port supporters but history is hurting the club. Time to be modern and embrace the Power.

Yeah it’s a great combo of representing both the original SANFL history and the AFL history of the Power

Completely agree mate. I was never a fan of the V guernsey, it’s too boring and doesn’t scream PA Gotta go with the tri bolt guernsey.
