    With Essendon, the red on red alternative jumper would look good if they had thick black trimmings on the sleeves and collar. It just balances the jumper out. The trimmings to the sash needed to be a bit bolder. For the home jumper, they could also play around with that for some matches. Red trimmings on sleeves and red collar. Then make the jumper's sash a bit wider (not too over the top!). Then all that together suddenly gives you a redder jumper and can be more of an alternative. That's before you consider red shorts or white shorts.

    As a dons supporter one small thing I’d like to see is the team crest on the sash above the sponsor like Collingwood I recon it would look better also I recon that the clash kit could do something like north Melbournes clash kit but with a bomber jet (preferably the old design would look better on a guernsey) layered on top of the sash

    No the Collingwood team should not have a swooping magpie, a barcode jumper or a laughing heckle and jeckle / toucan jumper. But they can play a bit with the width of the panels for sure. Especially as conflict jumpers.

  • @BDub2024

    North if they want to keep stripes, could even go for blue and light blue stripes as an alternative to Collingwood. Also, if done properly the jumpers might walk out the door. They need to be on top of the merchandise game.

    I would like to see the 90s Cats logo make a return but put it on a Navy Blue Guernsey as their alternate jumper.
    Play it in Away matches where the home team has a dominant lighter Guernsey such as North Melbourne, Sydney with white being more of the focus and Hawthorn with yellow being the focus.

    Hawks have had some shocking designs. Especially their white ones. Remember the blue montrosity too with diamonds. Hawks should go for very dark brown with yellow pin stripes. Then with dark brown shorts. The fans would love it as its actually tyhe club colours and maintains the stripes. The brown vees in recent years have been shockingly second rates, like a country footy jumper.

    Eagles men or women need to play around with a strong gold (like the Wallabies) as an alternative jumper. If they can move into a darker gold/orange then it provides a stronger alternative. Also they could better wear gold shorts with the gold-orange strip. They could still have blue wings.

    The Adelaide jumper is pretty good. They've also had some shocking white strips with a few stripes that have looked amateurish. The big crow jumper probably needs a bit more red. In a weird way, I've taken a liking to Essendon's clash design as opposed to a full black sash on red. It looks more aggressive and sleek. Having said that I still think the best clash wouldn't be black on red in any form, but utilizing white like most clash jumpers. But Essendon wouldn't ever do that because of the idea that they would be mistaken for St Kilda or Sydney (lol), which is just nitpicking.

  • @BDub2024
    @BDub2024 11 месяцев назад

    Freo have messed up by going for darker shade of purple which looks more like navy. Even when they wear retro jumpers its a signficantly darker purple green and red. I saw them wear a vertical striped jumper this year at Perth in retro round, and seriously from back view I thought I was looking at Collingwood. As you could see white stripes mixed in with dark colours that almost looked black from 80 metres away. Freo must embrace green and red again before Tassie steal green for good. If they wear an anchor it must be shaped better than the seagull shape from the 90s. If they wear a purple anchor jumper they shouldn't wear purple shorts. For me it looks like they're wearing an apron or bib. If they keep the chevron then you need green red and white strips in the chevron. Or alternatively go for white chevrons with green and red between the white.

    Always loved how essendon have stayed true to tradition. Love our jumper. The red clash is a great idea. The black sash would be fine.....but holy.hell that 2024 clash jumper looks terrible. I think every team just needs to keep the same design and reverse the colours, with the exception of a few teams like.perahps carlton. The bright blue one works really well (like their indigenous jumpers).

    • @mattn1

      Yeah I like a sky blue clash jumper for Carlton

  • @BDub2024
    @BDub2024 11 месяцев назад

    Another idea for Carlton is to wear a lighter colour jumper with light shorts. But on the front have a navy blue panel down the middle. In that panel you would get a white CFC. Can you try to design that one? Of course the jumper would have to be very light blue with a navy panel down the middle. It couldn't be a white jumper or it would look like Collingwood. Maybe you could have a youtube video based on some of the feedback you've received. Then based on the feedback you could say launch the video... encourage more engagement with fans.

    • @BDub2024

    Brisbane can easily switch things around by wearing blue shorts when required (against Sydney) and just making the yolk at the top of the jumper a bit low. There is no way it could then be confused with Suns or Sydney.

    • @StriveToAscendancy1
      @StriveToAscendancy1 11 месяцев назад

      Yoke looks better high as it is now because of everyone love of the 01-03 premierships, from the Fitzroy style and early Bears jumpers. The dream scenario would be for the Lions to wear blue shorts with the away jumper no matter what. Against Sydney the full home kit looks the best.

    • @BDub2024
      @BDub2024 11 месяцев назад

      @@StriveToAscendancy1 But if Brisbane play Sydney/Suns/Giants... then they drop the blue yolk further down and wear the blue shorts. My point is that they can make minor adjustments to the jumper at times to avoid a clash. That saves Brisbane from having to wear yellow or white jumpers. They don't have to lower the yolk in every game. Just when they play a team predominantly red. Most fans wouldn't even notice a minor adjustment to the jumper. Suddenly it becomes a strip that has a lot more blue in.

    • @BDub2024
      @BDub2024 11 месяцев назад

      @@StriveToAscendancy1 My suggestion is about reducing wearing radically different alternative jumpers. • @emceen8566
      @emceen8566 11 месяцев назад

      Essendon did try a wider sash in the 2000s but the AFL eventually made them change because, apparently, "red isn't a light colour". Because what the league *really* wanted was to force all teams onto a white-with-logo clash jumper like the ones Adelaide, Hawthorn and West Coast wore. Continuous fighting from multiple teams and their fans both in Melbourne and interstate finally seems to have put the league off from that idea.

    Carlton has changed the white jumpers to basically sell more merchandise. So they keep the white and tinker with trimmings and CFC shape and colour. For mine, I think they should go for a very light blue (not bright but not grey). Then go for matching light blue or dark blue shorts. Not bright blue is important to bring the conservative fans along for the ride. They could go for a pattern over the light blue.

For sure though I agree, I wouldn't mind something like the baby-blue guernsey (as long as we pick a better shade, plus I think it would look better with the current monogram anyway) or a patterned one.
