The Small Print live made me realize that Chris is a pure natural tenor belting those notes effortlessly whereas Matt Bellamy is actually a high baritone that can sing tenor, especially nowadays.
Lyrics: Take, take all you need And I'll compensate your greed With broken hearts Sell, I'll sell your memories, for 15 pounds per year But just the good days Say, it'll make you insane And it's bending the truth You're to blame For all the life that you'll lose and You watch this space And I'm going all the way And be my slave to the grave I'm a priest god never paid Hope, I hope you've seen the light Coz no one really cares They're just pretending Sell, I'll sell your memories, for 15 pounds per year But you can keep the bad days Say, it'll make you insane And it's bending the truth You're to blame For all the life that you'll lose and You watch this space And I'm going all the way And be my slave to the grave I'm the priest god never paid.
They were touring Absolution when I saw them in Cincinnati, OH on the Cure's festival. Sounded like they were playing on Mars. This song was a highlight for sure!
I was listening to The Small Print on Spotify and be like "Wait! Did they ever perform this live?" I'm a new fan so for sure I haven't fully known their whole history lol And here I am surprised Chris got a part to sing. He sounds so cool. I see no light for this song to be performed in the future again but well, at least I can comeback here to experience it.
I'm a longtime muse fan but I have forgotten this song. when I listened to it again today, wow this sounds familiar 🥲 a hit of nostalgia. crazy how this album absolution has been 10 years now..
@@ryeofoatmeal Understandable haha It's been 20years. I bet they themselves already forgot how to play it live 😂 They have many cool non-singles/side-B tracks. Even some jams Chris and Dom played on previous tours are really cool.
@@ikerina muse has A LOT of good b sides. so it's a waste if people only listen to their single tracks. cuz their b sides are freaking slap. although I completely understand listening to the whole album is a commitment 😂 but if you really wanna experience their authenticity in making music, should listen to their whole discography. hope you enjoy your muse journey. they're genuine people who just love and enthusiast about music. they're not controversial figure as far as i know. so the only thing you'd hear about them are mostly music related. very private people too except for matt he got the most spotlight I guess. the other two chris & dom just having fun. dom is literally an enigma, we know nothing about his private life 💀
This is a very good song. And Matt in the classic jacket and sport trousers - something unusual. So can do only Matt. It seems to me, or does Matt and Chris are like voices? How many songs do not listen, how many clips do not look, all I can not distinguish on the background of Matt decibels Chris's voice. Or merge, or do not differ.
if the album has only songs similar to madness, i guess i won't be a pwoper muser anymore. i was pwoud to be one when muse released masterpieces like showbiz and OoS or good stuff like absolution and BH&R, but maybe those days are over for good
@Megageorgethebest That's porbably because Chris isn't singing in the studio version ( at least not the big parts he sings here. He isn't even singing in all the live versions...
As I studied in five schools, I have been constantly changing program of learning English, and I could not get used to it quickly enough. But I do not have time to visit the English language courses. And it is very difficult to learn foreign languages, even though I try. Try to learn Russian so that write without stylistic errors in the design proposal. I am sure you will understand my problem.
Excuse me, I am Russian and English I know very badly, so often write errors. I'm not good in voice keys, but I think you're right. Thanks for the answer
This is the MUSE I felt in love with and became a fanatic for at the age 17. Now, being 32 I can't even listen to 20 seconds in a row of their new songs. Such a pity.
@@knightofcydonia2620 Thanks mate, since I wrote this I spent the entire year listening to music I didn't like, why didn't I think of it before? you saved me!
Ok so if Matt's going throughthe PA system (which he obviously is there's no mic on his cabinet) then when he goes and gets feedback from his cab on stage how is that sound going to the through the PA as well so everyone can hear it?
Supremacy, Survival, Animals, Unsustainable, Liquid State, Big Freeze, Save Me. I'll leave out others that don't feature guitar as prominently but it still leaves 7. They may not be straight up rock tracks like The Small Print or Hysteria but there's definitely a lot of good and varied guitar work in The 2nd Law. I have my criticisms of it, but guitar prevalence is not one of them.
Absolution sounds infinitely better live, the record is overproduced but songs like TSP sound like they are meant to sound live and they absolutely shine
lol, same comment again?? ahahaha man, you like to find grammatical errors! I'll call you professor...the multi-instrumental professor who will be famous very, very soon!
Chris' vocals are amazing. Should be used more in songs than just The Small Print and Dead Star.
Idk if this comment is older than 2nd Law or not
@@peterlavery8830 it is
Forever hoping they do this live again 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
never, they are sticking with the same boring setlist for years...
Just the forgettable stadium fillers now I’m afraid. Very sad.
Any of you seen Shepards Bush set list? Not this but many other classics
Pretty Muse don’t even like this song much, so unfortunately not :/
I love it :)
I like this song 😘
Chris' voice is great, and I think his and Matt's sound AMAZING together
Forever hoping they do this live again
+Andrew S There is a rumor that they soundchecked it yesterday
@@x1096 was it true lol
@@UseTheScience how do u know?
Wow chris! You go! No idea he had that kind of voice:O I know he's often the quiet one but he is so confident in belting those notes out!
Chris really has an amazing voice. His and Matt's perfectly fit together +.+
This is one of my favourite Muse Performances of all time :) Just this song alone :)
The Small Print live made me realize that Chris is a pure natural tenor belting those notes effortlessly whereas Matt Bellamy is actually a high baritone that can sing tenor, especially nowadays.
A setlist like this one is all I wish...
I hate it that I wont ever witness it tho..
Lyrics:
Take, take all you need
And I'll compensate your greed
With broken hearts

But just the good days
Say, it'll make you insane

They're so badass.
God Chris looks great closing his eyes and hitting the notes...love him...
Lmfao at Chris’s face for not liking Matt’s guitar tone at 2:50. Dam perfections!

Forever underrated song from Absolution and goated performance
YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU WATCHH THIS SPACEEE, Wolstenbeast
Great song!! Awesome to see Chris singing properly!!
How about you say that to my face
2004 - what a year for Muse!
BDO
Rock Am Ring
Glasto
Earls Court
Probably four of their best gigs they have ever done.
Everytime Chris starts to sing i hear 'You wanted bass' :DDD
Wow! great channel. TY. I saw them a bunch of times in Texas :) easily one of the best live bands I have ever seen..and I have seen a lot bless you.
did you know .... ? Matt wanted fury on absolution but thankfully Chris an Dom convinced matt to have the smallprint. IMO. THEIR BEST TUNE
Well...
I love this song, but I'm with Matt.
Why didn’t they just add both?
@@padawanalpha8924 They did on the Japanese and digital releases thankfully, both are fucking awesome songs.
this song is all MUSE
i’m with y’all, this and dying atheist are the most underrated songs on absolution
Set list like from a dream!!! 🥲
now thats a setlist i like to see
Anyone saw the face of Chris in 2:49? XD
"what the fuck are you doing Matt?"
Rodrigo Jiménez "why the fuck is Matt having an orgasm on the fucking amplifier"
So swaggy Chris
love muse
It's funny to see the same background of the RHCP's but in day
AWESOME.
lol i couldn realise that chris was singing at this song untill i saw this live........he has an amazing voice just like matt :D
I would puke if I ever saw this live... Fury & TSP would be my ultimate that I haven't seen live & would love to.
Jessica Ellen Muse, a great live band.

hah chris wrote two songs (Liquid State, Save Me) on their upcoming album The 2nd Law, and hes the lead singer :D should be an interesting album!
@Monz1A I think he did the face cuz of matts imporv, he does the face right after matt changes the riff
3:20 dom`s face =)))))
Fuck, great group
😍😍😍
corona written on the wall behind them is both really funny and ironic
+srproductions123 It can create feedback easier when they play their guitars next to the amp. Why they need that, I don't know.

Ok no
Chris is doing vocals on 2 songs on the 2nd law! Probably the only songs on the album I'm looking forward too
