It's not really an essay per se, it's more of an argument that is written out very detailed. For example, here is an argument that explains why the sum of any two odd integers is always an even integer: Let x and y be odd integers. Then x = 2m +1 and y = 2n + 1 for some integers m and n. So, x + y = 2m + 1 + 2n + 1 = 2(m+n+1) by the distributive property. Let r = m+n+1. Then x+y = 2r, hence x+y is even.
Also, it doesn't matter if you are "stupid". Anyone can study math regardless of how smart they are (or think they are). Getting "good" at math is more about perseverance rather than smartness.

I mean usually, the more populated the country, and the better the math education is there, the better it does. USA has a lot of brilliant people, homeschooled geniuses and private schools/schools for gifted children, China is huge and their math education is very good, Russia is kinda big and has good math education, I guess. If you’re wondering why India doesn’t do so well in IMO, I think I read somewhere that there isn’t much of an incentive for the smartest Indians to compete at IMO, rather they focus on JEE and stuff like that, because that’s simply the way that their incentives are aligned in that country - I don’t know the details because I’m not Indian. But yeah hopefully I’m not in r/wooooosh right now.
@@JohnSmith-cg3cv Just not true. Indonesia doesn't do very well. Pakistan doesn't do very well. The more populated the country absolutely does not mean a better math education. What are you on about?

Very interesting, informative and worthwhile video.
