  • With her distinct black sail, Maud is one of only two trading wherries surviving from a bygone age when much of Norfolk's freight was transported across the county by water.
    As part of "Virtual" Heritage Open Days 2020, this short film gives us a virtual tour of this historic vessel and an insight into life on the waterways of Norfolk.

    Great composition Chris - we have just been very lucky to catch Maud on the River and capture some fantastic aerial shots - thank you for taking the time to make this short film!

    My father was a wherryman alone with his father. My father followed on to Drifters and they by met my mother to go on to Hull.
    I wish that they could have remained in Yarmouth.
