Who the hell clicks on a Quo channel about Rick’s sad demise and gives it a thumbs down?? Disgraceful 😖 he rocked he rocks on
❤
One of the most underrated true Rock and Roll bands
Deeply admire this man, not for his lifestyle, but for his personality and musical talent. After having been thru 3 heart attacks, alcohol and drug problems, 2 divorces and the death of his daughter, he kept going. The cause of his death was ridiculous. A fucking infection. Miss you Ricky, rock on.
The alcohol and drug problems as well as the strokes of fate were surely also a reason for the later illness.
Never be in any doubt that Quo are one of the best rehearsed bands you will have ever seen. Top of their game and true pros....
I was honoured to have seen these guys live several times! You never left a Quo concert without a smile on your face! Heaven will be rocking now! RIP Rick!
That´s right: you never left a Quo Concert without a smile on your face ! ! !
Seen em live 4 times here over in the Netherlands, been a lucky dude over here
Got I miss Rick
@@Tapperje16 Ik ook!
Since I became a fan I didn't want to miss a gig of them and everytime I couldn't hold back my tears when they entered the stage❤ I've met them in Austria before the gig in a shopping centre and after that gig I was able to meet, hold en have a photo taken with Parfitt ❤
Status Quo, always the first band I think of when I think hard rock. Theres no fuzz, just jeans, tshirt or a shirt. Beer and 100% hard rock without experimentations or funny business. Rock on in the afterlife Rick Parfitt \m/
Descanse en paz, un grande, parte de la música que me acompaña durante mi vida. Rick Parfitt, gracias por tus acordes de guitarra, banda sonora de la vida de muchos de nosotros, tus notas seguirán resonando a lo largo del tiempo
Darryl souster1967 ,
best quote from Rick-I string my guitar very very tight and then basically thrash f**K out of it! what a rocker
oh yes!

How can anyone not like, respect and admire Rick?? A 'Rock Legend'. Great to see at the start of this video the original Telecasters, 'TRUE WORKHORSES!. We all miss Ricks unsurpassed contribution to pure and simple 'engine room' rhythm anthems. Met the guys on a number of occasions.
What a fitting tribute to Rick, The best Rhythm guitarists we have ever seen and a lovely man. I was lucky enough to meet him. gone but never forgotten Rick R.I.P

Another piece of my youth gone!!
RIP Rick Parfitt, thanks for the many memories of me playing a mean air guitar to Quo's music in my teens!
Rest in peace my friend, I'm 55 years old and you and your friends in Status have followed me for 45 years of my life. See you soon. Greetings from a fan in Sweden
The End of the road tour medley in the middle is immense.
Jesus they could rock. Gonna be missed.
I have always and will always love Status Quo!!! (thanks Dad!!)
I feel the exact same way my old man was gutted.
legend, never forget my first concert Hammersmith Odeon 1980, Rick strumming out Caroline to start the show, awesome!
Great band that I have seen live both at Oxford and at Reading in the 70ties. Always been a fan, have all their albums. This particular video is from Reading Festival in 1974.
Mid 70’s Michigan palace theater! Three bands, five bucks! Rush, Kansas and Status Quo! Very next week, Heart, Kansas and Status Quo! These guys came out with no fanfare, almost completely unknown to Detroit , in front of a beat up wall of Sound City amps! Forever changed my life! Thank you fellas!
The worst thing that could ever happen.
I was sitting with my family eating christmas dinner, and my father send me a message about Rick.
This day will never be the same again.
11.11.2008 Rostock.
I'm so glad that i convinced my father to go on thier concert.
He made me to pick up guitar...
My first teacher. Always Quo.
6 years! What a voice, what a talent. RIP
Wow, Big Fat Mama...how tight is this for live.....just fantastic! Getting the Pile Driver vinyl out tonight, and cranking it!!! RIP Rick, gladly listen to you more than 45 Hundred Times....
The Rhythm Master of the Telecaster. RIP Mr Parfitt. Thanks for the great music and for being an influence on my playing. Long live Status Quo! -Oregon, US.
I am from New York and just got into Quo about a year ago. I was hooked instantly and can't get enough of them. I just got a Telecaster a few weeks ago because of how Rick Parfitt sounded. It's very sad that we've lost him, but great to know I can always watch him doing his thing here on RUclips!

Doesn't matter, your here now. I am jealous of all the great rock n' roll your about to discover.
RIP Rick, thank you for a lifetime of great music......

Dee Donner Ramone

Radio didn't and wouldn't play QUO.
However, they did Tour the USA a few times.
Just seems like yesterday!!!RIP Rick, thanks for 40 odd yrs of great music.
Try 50 !!!
James George Coke
54 I think.
Clive Bindley as Status Quo I think its 50. Stand for correction.
They became The Status Quo in 1967 then Status Quo in 1969.
So you're about right...you get a cuddly toy!
Mr Rick Parfitt / Status Quo .30 years of pleasure, another lifetime of music in heaven, come on the QUO.....
so many memories. .the best rhythm guitarist ever to walk the earth! !! rip a true legend and true inspiration

Supposedly a Rock Band that only knew 3 chords!!!!!!! you are having a Laugh!!! One of the Greatest Bands ever, because they have been there for 50, YES 50 years which can't be THAT BAD.!!!!! Ricki Parfitt you Beauty. Love you and the world of MUSIC will miss YOU. Thanks for the wonderful memories. Will always listen to the MUSIC as long as I live. My heartfelt sympathy to his Family and the his Friends at SQ.

My hero, a true legend, missing you rick.
Lost count of the many times i've been to see them.Brought up with the Quo from 16 years....now 66.Love 'em.
Saw Quo at the top of there game back in the day along with other rock giants like Slade the Who and Purple say no more. The best of live rock bands that will be no more or equalled. So sad at Ricks passing Quo and the rock world have lost one of the best ever never to be replaced. Life is sadly catching up with so many of our hero's but Eternal youth will never die. Rock on and God be with you Rick in eternity.✌
so right Buddy - raise a glass for this
Ditto Saw them MEmories London eat /TRUE EASTERNMOST BAND🐒🚀
It couldn't be said otherwise.
RIP. 1 year after Lemmy , David Bowie and others, Mystery song is the most underated
Mystery Song is one of Rick's finest moments.
Sydney's ABC radio JJ 1540 am played it in 1976, because of the risque' lyrics and it's a great Rock song.
Weisst Du, wann Liebe beginnt? Was man hinein gibt, bekommt man, doppelt.. Und dreifach zurűck... Nicht an sich selbst denken, sondern den anderen.Das klingt unlogisch, ist aber total menschlich. .
Mystery song is brilliant
Somehow can't imagine Rick resting, definitely not in peace, anyway. Caroline, needless to say, was when I was hooked on SQ. Consequently bought Hello, what a selection of tracks. Quo soon followed, though never a huge fan of Break the Rules. Found myself falling out of love spinning through On the Level, Down Down & Little Lady being total exceptions. Went backwards and really enjoyed Dog of Two Head & Piledriver. Blue for You was a little bit & miss, when they hit, they really hit though. Is there a Better Way, Ring of a Change, Rain & Mystery Song, outstanding ! What an amazing era. 😎🎶
Voilà ce que boogie, rock'n roll signifient . De la pure bombe qui swingue et qui vous explose en pleine face !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick parfait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Status quo !! FOR EVER !!!!!J'adore !!!!!!
In all the live videos of Quo playing Caroline, here & elsewhere, Rick's Tele sounds kind of soft in the mix. Seeing them live was a whole different story - that guitar riff hit you like a sledgehammer. Rick was one almighty good guitarist, I think that gets overlooked sometimes. We miss you Rick. Cheers!
RIP Rick from an norwegian fan who has followed u ower 30 years.
Status Quo is an universal band. It doesn't matter if they are playing "Pictures", "Caroline" or "Whatever You Want", "Oriental", "Two Way Traffic"... the sound is always fucking fresh and pure from '60 till now, they will never get old. I miss Rick, but he is alive in the music, in our memories and hearts. Quo is Dead, Long Live Quo!!!
Rick Parfitt the Legend of Status Quo.
The best rhythm guitarist ever and boogie king!
R.I.P. Rick - Rock on in heaven...
LONG LIVE STATUS QUO!
We are the Quo Armyo
We're not cool
We've never been cool
We'll never try to be cool
Just take three chords, twelve bars and PLAY IT LOUD
Goodbye Rick - you will be missed
Utterly brilliant tribute to an utterly brilliant man

Very well put together. I'm very raw at the moment on the loss of Rick. In my opinion the best rhythm guitarist ever, a huge loss. I'm devestated. Thanks again for this tribute!
Myrmidon Nom I am in total agreement with you. I too am absolutely devastated at the loss of Rick. The greatest rhythm guitarist and a very funny, warm-hearted soul who will be forever missed. Rest peacefully, dear Rick. x

Whatever you want is peace, Rick. You died to young 12.Oct.1948 - 24.Dec.2016. I would have still enjoyed listening to your music (together with Francis) for many more years. I miss you♡
Used to see these guys at the old Michigan Palace in Detroit back in the 1970's. I was always a fan, but most of my friends scoffed at them. I didn't care, I still bought every record and played along with every tune! RIP Mr. Parfitt, and thank you for the memories!
R.I.P. from Sweden. The 1:st Status Quo was the best !

Christmas day The Faith left & the Status Quo will never b the same;
u were suppose to live for ever; timeless & ageless. The concerts, the unmistakable guitar twang from Rick will live forever down down deep in my heart
Yes, incredible. Rick survives 3 heart attack, but dies of an injured shoulder. Probably on hes left side. But, thanks to youtube, Rick will "live" forever. But, what a sad Christmas for his family. R.I.P:
there will never be a nother great rock and roller.....rip rick
Watching this again this evening on what would have been Rick's 72nd Birthday. ROCK ON LEGEND! R.I.P.
Great tribute to a truly great but hugely underrated artist and musician. Been a fan since about 1980 when I was just 5 years old and feel like I've grown up with the Quo. Parfitt was a true rock star in every sense with the looks, the fast cars, fast women and the drink and drugs to go with it. A very humble bloke though and openly admits his regrets at a decade or more lost to drink and drugs and the sometimes ridiculous shenanigans that came with it all. Aside from the well known hits like Whatever You Want and Rain he also wrote many other great tracks, Lonely Man, Living on an Island and All the Reasons being particular favourites of mine. The music world has lost an iconic star and hopefully now he is up there with his daughter Heidi. RIP Rick Parfitt, thanks for the music mate.
Mientras exista su música , Rick seguirá viviendo....cuando nadie lo escuche , ahí el morirá....larga vida a tu Rock !!!
An awesome tribute to Rick.
Status Quo ...freakin' legends.
Rest in Peace, Rick! Fantastic riffs and voice!
I saw the Quo live about 4 years ago, it was amazing and I'll never forget that experience!
The truth is that in 2016, we lost not only Rick Parfitt, but many other greats: Keith Emerson, Greg Lake, David Bowie just to name a few.
May they all Rock in heaven!
So glad I had the pleasure of seeing him live on many occasions,a true rocker from the old school,God rest Rick x
A very sad time, since the fact sinks in.
I was very fortunate to have met Rick in the mid 70's, on at least a dozen occasions.
Saw the Band, close and personal - from the 'wings' and in the pit.
To the band and through my association, I was just Joe Public. Rick went well out his way to keep me engaged. Thanks Mate, unbeknown to you, you gave me considerable inspiration...which subsequently accelerated and enriched many aspects of my life.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Rick most amazing gorgeous thunder blaster rock n roll rhythm guitarist ghoooood I miss not seeing him play ...life is now to dam quiet . RIP Ricky rocket ❤❤❤❤I loved the Fab Four ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Gutted. The best rhythm guitarist has left the stage. R.I.P Rick, thanks for many years of great songs. I still have the 1984 End of the road tour jacket in my wardrobe! Play on in the great unknown mate.
No ever rocked harder than Rick. Rip Ricky
Rick has the heart and soul of real rock music. Sadly it is missing from today's crap - all noise and screaming or mumbling - no real soul - today's musicians should learn from him and bring back real music! Thanks for the legacy Rick - let's hope it didn't die with you.
