My pain began from my job, standing for hours on concrete floors. I had no clue what was wrong and went through shoes, inserts orthotics and many other things before I found anything that worked. That padding was what helped me, but getting them in the right spot was a problem. I also have to put extra insoles in my shoes, but that causes the shoe to be too tight. It is hard to get the right balance.
I use toe socks and Crocs. Also, the gel, silicone toe spreaders, seperators work well. During the Winter, I cut the toe ends off of old, big, loose fluffy socks and wear them at night. Avoid any and all things which squeeze or press your toes together. I have extremely wide feet, like a Hobbit I guess.

When I had my son 25 years ago, the tendons I guess in my feet loosened, like they do in your hips and joints, so my feet grew about half a size and going to do groceries I crammed my foot in a high heeled winter boot and felt such agony walking around. I was off work so I hobbled around home with my 5 month old and figured it would get better. After a year I went back to work, I was standing on one leg all day it was worse. Mine is one toe over towards the big toe. I finally saw a specialist and she said Morton's neuroma but mine was like a butcher knife being driven into my foot and 5 inch heels were fine or barefoot but any other shoe like running shoes which I wore for work was agony. I ended up with a custom made insert and that made a night and day difference. She said surgery was an option but she didn't recommend surgery because she said people often trip and fall after because they loose most of the feeling in their foot and its dangerous for stairs. I wondered if she invented the term because I would get blank looks from even nurses and doctors 😂 Back then no one even knew what it was. In the summer I lived in flip flops because they didn't squeeze my feet. I still have my insert in my shoe.
My pain sounds similar to this but only happens when I first get out of bed in the morning, no problem the rest of the day. Doesn’t really hurt when I tried the squeeze test, is there anything else it might be?
My foot has been good for a couple of days yesterday I walked out with my trainers on and today my neuroma if it is that is back again 😢I’m guessing it was the tight trainers I wore that has inflamed it with thick socks 😢

@@ThePhysioChannel willingly, I tried the skechers but they were narrow on the top, then it depends on the shape of the foot, but valid as shoes at a lower price than the on cloud, or the brooks very good, but with horrible colours... I can't express more, but a piece of advice, don't save money, the health of your feet is the health of our entire skeleton.
Can the pain also manifest on the bottom of the foot at the base of the "ring toe" when walking? I get a sharp pain there occasionally and seemingly pretty randomly. I always assumed it was some kind of bone bruise or something since it only pops up here and there and seems to go away within an hour or so most times. Wondering if this might be what's causing it?
Yes it can. That’s where my pain is. It’s not a “Morton’s neuroma” but it’s a neuroma. I think it has to do with which toe it is between - but anyway, the maintenance is the same. There’s no cure but you can use these tricks to try and manage. What helps me is wide shoes, and a half insole with metatarsal pad. Also a pea size amount of Penetrex cream a night and during the day, depending. Stretches help a lot with circulation. Good luck!

I wondered if she invented the term because I would get blank looks from even nurses and doctors 😂
Back then no one even knew what it was. In the summer I lived in flip flops because they didn't squeeze my feet.
I still have my insert in my shoe.
The cushion helped me, but my neuroma continues to get worse not more painful, but more numbness.
Great video! So helpful!
I think I have this but why in both feet ?
Can you please explain how the taping helps? Thank you!
It aims to slightly change the way you move and load your forefoot so you dont flex the toes so much.
So if the pain is the second and third toe area it’s not a Morton’s neuroma?
Less likely, best get an assessment to determine the best treatment.
I have this i think but it also goes behnd my kneee and makes it hard to stand is that part of it or something else? And its worse when i get in shower
I do have narrow feet but i buy wide wieth, it dont hurt as much but if i dont put my incert in my shoe then its hard to walk,i start limping,it hurts
Should the dome be placed centrally or slightly laterally (behind 3rd and 4th heads) of the transverse arch?
You will need to try to find the best location. Usually slight behind the transverse arch. I hope it helps.
Does anyone have experience in running with a metatarsal dome?
I have neuroma, I bought shoes with a wide toe, soft sole, and an insole ( On Cloudstratus 3 ) Now I can walk for kilometers without feeling pain, with other narrow toe shoes this is no longer possible.
An ideal shoe, would you recommend any others to the other viewers?
Thank you
@@ThePhysioChannel willingly, I tried the skechers but they were narrow on the top, then it depends on the shape of the foot, but valid as shoes at a lower price than the on cloud, or the brooks very good, but with horrible colours...
Good luck!

And what about a shot of cortisone or surgery????
cortisone may help for a short duration. Surgery can help but results differ considerably.
Year number 7 no change for me
Where do you buy tape?
I use Rocktape in this video
Thanks!
Super thanks Halley, very kind of you.
What do you think about injections?
If you have tried everything else then injections are worth trying, especially before considering surgery.
@@ThePhysioChannel It seems that I need to get an injection once a year then it comes back with vengeance.
17:04 this is where your advice clicked for me.
Thank you!
You're welcome!

Do you mean toes?
Can Morton's neuroma be cured?
Yes it can, it can also be awkward though. Make sure you get some professional help.
No not always at All they work
Can you explain what you mean. It may help the others. Thank you
I’m suffering, with my foot
Translate in Italian please,,,,
Sollievo😊
Tight socks no good. Like a tourniquet , cause edema in one's lower leg. Not healthy
