The law of Sekiro: if it can be parried, it should be parried
not really true vs owl or monk pre 50% hp, they shrug off parries and you fuck over your posture after parrying like 3 swings
You loose posture if you parry no matter what. However you never break posture if you parry. Your positive bar will always go up no matter if you block or parry. Posture bar can only break on a block
Some atacks are mkre rewarding to dodge and make you land 2 hits wich is better then a single deflect

@From Maui not true man. You still lose posture on perfect deflection - but your posture can never be broken in a perfect deflection. So it'll max out and break at the first imperfect deflection - unless you're a supernaturally gifted in timing deflection.
Things I feel you deserve to know:
-You cannot stack sugars.
-Using the umbrella followup attack removes divine confetti buff.
-When sekiro is smoking (like at 12:40 or something), the umbrella is ready to release a supercharged attack. It adds a projectile.
-You can block his wave of fire goundpound thingy (11:07 for reference) with the umbrella, and get a free supercharge. The projectile can reach him from any distance.
-You are not alone in this struggle; everyone who fought this beast legit has gone through what you are currently, and you have our support.
-Don’t quit, you’re so close!

Welp that's why you don't rez immediately. Moat bosses back up and give you space after you go down. Wait a bit then rez, you can usually get up and heal before they do anything else.
That shit happened to me and I called it a day.
In the new update 1.05, he does a quadruple head but 😆 which is followed by a flame attack. I said quietly to myself you know what I got chu hijo de p... Son of a b... In English and I went to farm for skill point for a whole weak to get my attack power to 50 just to go back to him and get my ass cheeks clap and I took a break and haven't gone back 😆

Monkey.D Luffy, don’t agree with you with bringing on nothing special, I’ve played through 5 times and i can still discover new things, it has a bunch of mechanics that shows how different it is from the other From Software games.
For example, the grappling hook, required to deathblow mini-bosses and main bosses several times, the posture mechanic, the prosthetics, Is A LOT more fast paced than the other From Software games, and last but not least, ACTUAL MOVING MOUTHS.
Don’t feel bad bro, it only took me 6 1/2 hours to kill this boss.

a bit of a tip, you can avoid most of his melee attacks by ruunning diagonally counter-clockwise and sticking to his foot, and as for the fire balls, dont block or evade, just run sideways

Sword saint will almost guaranteed be easier for him. DoH isn't comparable at all to sword saint isshin and owl foster father. He's straight up a Bloodborne boss. He beat owl foster father so my guess is isshin won't take that long.
I actually beat the demon of hatred quicker than i was able to kill ishin. Larger enemies have always been easire for me cause theor attacks are more telegraphed

Large enemies are easier to react to(usually), can't say small enemies are harder though. You can stagger most human sized enemies and punish their attacks(deflecting, mikiri, high monk).

My advice is (I know it's hard) but don't panic and dodge/block blindly without knowing what the enemy is doing cause most of the attacks are almost scripted I think, or that's what it seems like cause they follow you. Most of the time you can keep your guard up until you know what attack is next and dodge only when you're about to be hit, kinda like deflecting but with the dodge action
