    Btw everyone, I hit two pitch shots on 15 because the first one actually ended up not being my ball😂 So obviously in a tournament that would be a penalty but G was nice enough to let me go hit my actual ball which was the second pitch shot without a penalty

      My impression of your game is that you're a bit too nonchalant and don't concentrate enough on each shot. As long as you're on a streak you do fine but you don't handle trouble mentally or physically well.

    I grew up with kids who could shoot 65 every day, and later spent 1 to 3 years on tour struggling. Two shot 59 on tours and still didn't make it.
    I've come to believe golf is not about hitting a ball solid, it's about scoring under pressure when it matters most, on impossible courses. Roughs up, greens are blazing fast, fairways are cut super low, lights are on, people are heckling.
    Playing for your livelihood is another level.

    Im coming here after seeing the Creator Classic tournament. Garrett is closer to pro golf than he realizes. He just has to decide if he is ready for the grind of working to get there and dealing with the ups and downs. Having taught many young golfers, I can see that his mechanics are very solid. The only thing missing is more tournament play. Sharpening your mental focus is really the last step. Preparation is also very important. After watching you hit OB twice on the 12th hole at East Lake, it was evident you werent prepared for that hole and kind of blocked out the danger right. Im a big fan Garrett and wish you all the best.

  • @scottsmith6871
    @scottsmith6871 6 месяцев назад +2

    I think youtube golfers over estimate the state of their mental toughness. Garrett thought he was closer than what Brad said obviously. Garrett would fold in a real tournament. Even in an amateur qualifier he would get blasted. It is just so different than playing with the scrubs (outside of Kwon and Brad) he plays with. I also think he doesn’t truly know where he is becuase he plays by RUclips rules and not real (OB, miraculously finding every ball, extremely lenient drops out of hazards, etc.

    To be honest at this point I can only see Kwon on the PGA tour. He hit it far when i wants to hit it far, he's dialed with his wedge game when he wants to be dialed, his short puts are maybe below average but the long puts are amazing. And...oh, I just realized I have Good Good Golf on my mind and this is your private channel.
    Anyway, in my opinion you could easily be a PGA Tour player with some adjustments, both swing wise and mentally. For example Mr. Dalke waits until he is a couple of shots below par before he tries to be cute while you start "trick shooting" from the get go. So I believe us viewers aren't getting a fair view of what you really can do.
    I think that you, as you recently stated yourself, should do more stroke play rounds to see where you actually stand compared to Kwon and Dalke and just work your way up from there.
    And one more thing. If you aim to keep that compact swing of yours you should probably strive to be fading all of your shots. Just feel like you hit a cut always.
    Look at George for example. He's not always cutting the ball but I bet that in his head he is.
    Good luck with your game, dude! Looking forward to seeing you on tour soon!

      He's not even CLOSE to a tour level player. The level of separation from a scratch golfer to a pro is the same as a starter on a mid tier college basketball team and an NBA player. Keep in mind, NONE of the courses they play on these videos are at tour level difficulty with 4 inch thick rough, greens that roll a 12, and pins tucked into corners you cannot go after. They don't play these rounds in front of audiences and a scoreboard in full view meaning these videos have ZERO pressure in comparison to a pro tournament. The dude would absolutely be one of the best players at his local club course, but that's the extent of it

    G is a legitimate scratch player. Maybe a +1 or 2. That makes him about 5 levels away from PGA. If you've ever regularly played with an actual PGA tour quality player, you know. Any doubters, go watch a Korn Ferry open qualifier and you'll see how unbelievably good guys are that can't even break into the KF tour. Brad and Kwon are probably 2 levels away. Same as with work, if you want to be better than average or good, then you put in some more hours or days and chances are you excel...if you have the talent, you are the one who determines what you limits are and what you are prepared to do to achieve it.

    Always appreciate Garrett's honesty about where his game is at and never assumes to be in the pro level class. We love his game because how entertaining it is and the content that comes out with other players and creators.

    GM content honestly is better. Just straight golf , no gimmick which is ok but grant leaving was the best thing for him. And adding brad was the best thing you could have did. He is a great addition. But Good good just feels different now vs last year. They seemed pumped and happy. It just seems like a job for some now.

    Garrett - Let's be real. You have access to the BEST equipment and coaches....IF YOU WANT IT. You have natural talent, but many others do as well. The ONLY way you will ever know is to cut out all the BS and GRIND......for a LONG time. That's the only way to maximize you playing ability and really have a true measuring stick against the best. Just playing with PGA players in a RUclips video doesn't match their MENTAL ability and all the practice grind they put in. It's up to you. I'm not trying to sound judgemental - just my opinion on the only way you'll ever really know if you can match up with the best. Best of luck either way - great channel.

    Asking whether you are good enough to play on the PGA Tour is the wrong question. Even if you were good enough, that’s not enough. You have to beat hundreds of other guys who are also good enough. If you can get to +5 / +6 and consistently go under par in tournaments at top courses, you can start thinking about qualifying for the tour. But the probability is still close to zero.

    You are as close to the tour as I am, and I’m a 12 handicap. Meaning, neither of us will ever make it. You’re a really good player but there are so many great golfers out there. Keep making great vids

    • @blue24563
      @blue24563 7 месяцев назад +1

      Exactly. A 24 handicap is more likely to get to Garretts level within 3 months than Garrett is to get onto the PGA Tour in his lifetime. It’s just so far ahead.

    In asking a former tour player the difference between a good D1 college player and a PGA pro is the ability to go very low when conditions are right and/or the golf setup is forgiving. A D1 player can commonly go 1-2 strokes under par when conditions are good but they rarely will shoot in the low 60's. Touring pro's will shoot low when the conditions are right and still go 1-2 under when conditions are tough. David Duval has the course record at our local public course that used to host Nike Tour Events. Duval shot a 59! That score card has many 2's and 3's recorded. It is a whole other level!

    Awesome match but I'm confused at the ending scores. Maybe I'm having a stupid moment but the scores of Garrett 70- (-1) and Brad 67 - (-5) just doesn't add up to me lol. Great match and videos once again G

    Watching guys like you play golf and knowing that even though both of you are elite, you’re still not consistently tour level is just wild. The difference between a scratch golfer and a tour pro is about the same as a 20 handicapper against a 7 handicap

    I think Grant is every bit as good as George. I think you and Micah have potential to play on tour, but Micah needs to see major improvement on his short game. You are so naturally gifted, I don’t think there is one specific area to work on except for the mental aspect.

  • @johnsouza4391
    @johnsouza4391 7 месяцев назад +1

    G, did you ask Brad the right question? You might have learned more if you asked him "what do PGA golfers do that I do not?"
    One answer would be that they play par 3's closer to par. They putt better. They don't normally have swing breakdowns like that feared snap hook that shows up under pressure.
    Mostly their mental games are a LOT better. You can figure that out.
