My impression of your game is that you're a bit too nonchalant and don't concentrate enough on each shot. As long as you're on a streak you do fine but you don't handle trouble mentally or physically well.
I grew up with kids who could shoot 65 every day, and later spent 1 to 3 years on tour struggling. Two shot 59 on tours and still didn't make it. I've come to believe golf is not about hitting a ball solid, it's about scoring under pressure when it matters most, on impossible courses. Im coming here after seeing the Creator Classic tournament. Garrett is closer to pro golf than he realizes. He just has to decide if he is ready for the grind of working to get there and dealing with the ups and downs. Having taught many young golfers, I can see that his mechanics are very solid. Im a big fan Garrett and wish you all the best.
I think youtube golfers over estimate the state of their mental toughness. Garrett thought he was closer than what Brad said obviously. Garrett would fold in a real tournament. Why did Brad hit 2 different greenside chip shots on hole 15? First one at 19:17 and 2nd at 19:55 and both landed on the green just in different spots???
When you see the gap between you and the guys who worked incredibly hard and are KF Tour or other satellite tour players, it is a very quick answer to know the massive gap to play at PGA tour levels. These guys consistently card 6 under par or better when they are guests on YT channels, which an emphasis on “consistently”.

The dude would absolutely be one of the best players at his local club course, but that's the extent of it
G is a legitimate scratch player. Maybe a +1 or 2. That makes him about 5 levels away from PGA. If you've ever regularly played with an actual PGA tour quality player, you know. Any doubters, go watch a Korn Ferry open qualifier and you'll see how unbelievably good guys are that can't even break into the KF tour. Brad and Kwon are probably 2 levels away. Most jobs are 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for the average worker...so if you make golf your job there shouldn't be any reason not to spend 8 hours a day, 5 days a week on your golf if you want to be an average golfer on a pro-tour. Same as with work, if you want to be better than average or good, then you put in some more hours or days and chances are you excel...if you have the talent, you are the one who determines what you limits are and what you are prepared to do to achieve it.

Garrett - Let's be real. You have access to the BEST equipment and coaches....IF YOU WANT IT. You have natural talent, but many others do as well. The ONLY way you will ever know is to cut out all the BS and GRIND......for a LONG time. That's the only way to maximize you playing ability and really have a true measuring stick against the best. Just playing with PGA players in a RUclips video doesn't match their MENTAL ability and all the practice grind they put in. It's up to you. I'm not trying to sound judgemental - just my opinion on the only way you'll ever really know if you can match up with the best. Best of luck either way - great channel.
Asking whether you are good enough to play on the PGA Tour is the wrong question. Even if you were good enough, that’s not enough. You have to beat hundreds of other guys who are also good enough. If you can get to +5 / +6 and consistently go under par in tournaments at top courses, you can start thinking about qualifying for the tour. But the probability is still close to zero.
You are as close to the tour as I am, and I’m a 12 handicap. Meaning, neither of us will ever make it. You’re a really good player but there are so many great golfers out there. Keep making great vids
Exactly. A 24 handicap is more likely to get to Garretts level within 3 months than Garrett is to get onto the PGA Tour in his lifetime. It’s just so far ahead.
In asking a former tour player the difference between a good D1 college player and a PGA pro is the ability to go very low when conditions are right and/or the golf setup is forgiving. A D1 player can commonly go 1-2 strokes under par when conditions are good but they rarely will shoot in the low 60's. Touring pro's will shoot low when the conditions are right and still go 1-2 under when conditions are tough. David Duval has the course record at our local public course that used to host Nike Tour Events. Duval shot a 59! That score card has many 2's and 3's recorded. It is a whole other level!
Awesome match but I'm confused at the ending scores. Maybe I'm having a stupid moment but the scores of Garrett 70- (-1) and Brad 67 - (-5) just doesn't add up to me lol. Great match and videos once again G
Watching guys like you play golf and knowing that even though both of you are elite, you’re still not consistently tour level is just wild. The difference between a scratch golfer and a tour pro is about the same as a 20 handicapper against a 7 handicap
I think Grant is every bit as good as George. I think you and Micah have potential to play on tour, but Micah needs to see major improvement on his short game. You are so naturally gifted, I don’t think there is one specific area to work on except for the mental aspect.
G, did you ask Brad the right question? You might have learned more if you asked him "what do PGA golfers do that I do not?" One answer would be that they play par 3's closer to par. They putt better. They don't normally have swing breakdowns like that feared snap hook that shows up under pressure. Mostly their mental games are a LOT better. You can figure that out.
Btw everyone, I hit two pitch shots on 15 because the first one actually ended up not being my ball😂 So obviously in a tournament that would be a penalty but G was nice enough to let me go hit my actual ball which was the second pitch shot without a penalty

Garret shot 71 not 70 as the card shows at the end. We have all seen what turning in a wrong card leads to.
Yeah it is odd that the editors missed that because -1 was the correct score.
Grant and GM is the bromance we all miss... but the new bromance with Brad and GM is a close second for me
Go to Q-School buddy. Then you'll know.
Not even in same universe bro
right lol these youtubers get nervous with their little youtube matches....cmon now
I absolute love the “Sketch” reference at @6:37 😂😂 “Sorry for cussing 👆🏼”
"twin cheeks really got the best of us" lmao
You are as close to the tour as I am, and I’m a 12 handicap. Meaning, neither of us will ever make it. You’re a really good player but there are so many great golfers out there. Keep making great vids
Exactly. A 24 handicap is more likely to get to Garretts level within 3 months than Garrett is to get onto the PGA Tour in his lifetime. It’s just so far ahead.
"69 yds, Dinner for 2." 😂😂quote of the year so far
Tits a great game from Brad. G you're a pro at what you do.
what is the ball tracker you are using?
I heard on PGA tour radio, something about a youtuber getting a PGA tourney start.
More like the difference between a 30 handicap and a 2 handicap😂
the goat
Aren't college players anywhere from 0- min-5. So to get there...dump the vids an commit 💯 Letzzz Goooo G, we're still behind ya! 🍻
I think Grant is every bit as good as George. I think you and Micah have potential to play on tour, but Micah needs to see major improvement on his short game. You are so naturally gifted, I don’t think there is one specific area to work on except for the mental aspect.
G, did you ask Brad the right question? You might have learned more if you asked him "what do PGA golfers do that I do not?"
One answer would be that they play par 3's closer to par. They putt better. They don't normally have swing breakdowns like that feared snap hook that shows up under pressure.
Mostly their mental games are a LOT better. You can figure that out.
