I did this flight last march on the exact same plane, also out of that same gate. I was also on that Air New Zealand plane at 2:17 (ZK-OKO) last summer. Cool to see that you caught them both next to each other!

Great trip report , everything explained very well ,
All of your expectations are realistic
Swiss still deliver their solid service
I don’t know if I’m bias or not
Over 8,5 hours flight should provide two hot meals
Yes it was a breakfast service , but at least they could give more pastries to compliment full tray meal
Good luck on your path as pilot
Hope to see you in the sky

The reason why you feel that vibration on start up is the main shaft is bent. The huge weight of the fan section bends the shaft down if the plane has been standing a long time, and the bearings take an extra frictional load as a result, until it straightens out after a few minutes. .

A 77W your favourite plane? Really? Cramped, noisy....but I understand it is a money maker for airlines.

@@frisolustig6349 I find that the 777-300ER has one of the nicest wing designs out of all other commercial airliners. I also like how expansive the cabin is. This aircraft is an absolute wonder from an engineering standpoint, from the GE90 engines, to one of the best gliding and handling characteristics of any widebody. I have spoken with many 777 pilots and all of them say that it is the greatest aircraft they have ever flown. The technology both in the flight deck and in the cabin is super impressive for an aircraft that was introduced in the 90s and if you ride in a newer build 777 like the ones from Swiss or United, you get nice modern features as well to complement the rest of the aircraft.
