Meriema is a medium size village located in Chiephobozou Circle of Kohima district, Nagaland with total 239 families residing. The Meriema village has population of 1233 of which 576 are males while 657 are females as per Population Census 2011.
In Meriema village population of children with age 0-6 is 178 which makes up 14.44 % of total population of village. Average Sex Ratio of Meriema village is 1141 which is higher than Nagaland state average of 931. Child Sex Ratio for the Meriema as per census is 1225, higher than Nagaland average of 943.
Meriema village has higher literacy rate compared to Nagaland. In 2011, literacy rate of Meriema village was 81.52 % compared to 79.55 % of Nagaland. In Meriema Male literacy stands at 89.31 % while female literacy rate was 74.60 %.
As per constitution of India and Panchyati Raaj Act, Meriema village is administrated by Sarpanch (Head of Village) who is elected representative of village.
