    Try out this Andhra style Ulava charu which is a tangy and flavourful side dish prepared in special occassions in Andhra Pradesh. This wonderful variant of rasam is gently spiced and often served with steamed rice or biryani.
    Servings - 4 to 5
    Ingredients :
    500g or 2 cups horse gram or kulthi
    3 litre water
    75g tamarind
    2 tbsp oil
    ¼ tsp fenugreek seed
    1 tsp mustard seed
    ¼ tsp asafoetida or hing
    Some curry leaves
    3 dried red chillies
    2 slitted green chillies
    ¼ tsp turmeric powder
    Salt to taste
    ½ tsp red chilli powder
    Garnish it with some chopped coriander leaves and pour some fresh cream.
