hi, interesting video...in practice you can transfrom a vision in a normal phantom 2. there is no can bus outside the vision, but you still can mount a iOS mini d bought separately and a video transmitter using the electronic board sold by dji for adding components without soldering?

Can we see through the dji app ? Even if we use a different camera ?

Where did the original wire for the vision camera motor go? Do you just put it inside the phantom or unplug and remove it?

does this work for the vision plus too? if so, will the tilt lever work since the plus already has a 7th channel? thanks!

    Hi.
I just purchased a faulty Phantom 2 vision, without gimbal or camera.
On the other hand, I bought a Zenmuse H3-3D and after seeing the video I get the question as whether if the Zenmuse H3-3D I bought is a "Phantom 2 version"
Do You know, how I can know which version I purchased?
    Thanks for your attention.
    Best Regards, Gonzalo.

+Gonzalo Suarez At about the :32 mark in the above video you will notice a round grey sticker on top of the Zenmuse box, on this sticker it says "For Phantom 2 Only." This is the only indication I had, I am not sure what the differences are or what makes it only for the phantom 2. If you contact Zenmuse, I am sure they can tell by the serial number what version gimbal you have. Good luck!

the vision still work with 2,4 ghz and tablet application?

Nope, the vision camera itself houses the transmission antennas so when that is removed it will no longer send data back to the ground. You would need an iosd and a video transmission system to get a video/data feed back.

+Alfredo Alberola That is an interesting question, I doubt it would work because the Zenmuse is designed to only work with a GoPro, also I don't think the Phantom work properly having both the Zenmuse and the Vision camera plugged in as that camera has a built-in gimbal, I see this causing a lot of problems with the hardware...also mounting it all would be another issue. With enough modification and knowledge of how the electronics work in the Phantom I suppose it could be possible, but it won't be easy. Good luck!

I thought the h3-3d gimbal was only for the Phantom 2 so how do you tell if it is "Phantom 2 version"?

+Chase Redfield This quadcopter was a DJI Phantom 2 Vision which had the round white integrated camera with 1-axis stabilization. The internal components on this model are the same as the regular Phantom 2 which does not have the integrated camera. You should be able to read the model number from the sticker on the bottom of the phantom to determine which model you have. I see you put "Phantom 2 Version" in quotes, its not "Version" but the actual model is "Phantom 2 Vision" meaning it has an integrated camera.

Ahh OK thanks for the reply and thank you for the video, my local drone shop said it was impossible to put a gimbal on a vision so I'm planning to disprove them!

Why do everyone on the websites of DJI say it is a big hassle to make this work? They said the signal used by the controller on the vision wrecks possibility to use stuff like FPV and that? What where they talking about?

+Zefnoly The vision uses 5.8ghz for the controller communication whereas the non-vision version uses 2.4ghz for the controller. Most fpv systems use 5.8ghz so with the vision you would need to find a fpv system on a different frequency than your controller or you'll just end up with interference. I didn't setup fpv on this one just due to the extra hassle and expense involved.

+Exploring Northwest Ohio Ok. Because the FC200 camera on mine got bricked almost right after i bought it by update and i didn't buy it directly from store so no return option. The reason i wanted it was because it allready got a camera with a fair FPV setup trough the range extender and that. And it is almost impossible to get a new FC200 camera in Norway but we got a gopro hero 3 laying here which i planned to use instead (have stripped it on the drone for now) and the images are good but the wifi transmission on the gopro has lots of delay and i really want fpv setup with it. Someone told me it could be possible to change the frequency of the controller of the drone (not sure what he talked about, told about changing the freqenzy chip or something) but it sounds so advanced. I really just want to see where i go. Dont ask me to get a usual P2. Because im not able to sell this thing now. I'm also wondering if it exist cheap fpv setups using 2,4 GHz freqenzy?

+Exploring Northwest Ohio Dont mind my last comment. Someone nearby sold me an H3-2D gimbal togheter with a brand new 2,5 GHz controller along with a receiver for it so i can use fpv in the future. Thanks for your videos about removing the FC200 cam and installing the gimbal!
