I remember when i was a kid i found my dad's cassette version for stay hungry and thought at first what the hell is this but i put it on anyways and boy am i glad i did cause it blew me away and I've been a SMF ever since so congratulations twisted sister well deserved 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
An unstoppable wall of sound, fury and a blond mop thrown all over the stage...pure energy! I saw these guys smoke other bands at the same venue many times...a polished, professional act that totally drew you in to their performance. No false intentions, no bullshit, no joke, they always brought it and that made them icons and idols of so many who appreciate the early roots of metal! Very proud of you all, you deserve all the accolades

I feel sorry for ya lol. I listened to the real metal bands of the 80s! I remember when Stay Hungry came out, TS came to Indy with Ratt or the other way around, TS headlined. They couldn't even sell out Market Square Arena so they had to change venues to the Ice Skating rink and it wasn't sold out either. They also got popped for weed here. Cops didn't arrest them but gave them a court summons and they had to return a few mnths later to stand trial for it. They just got a big fine and let go was on the news and in the paper! I hinestly never cared for them back then, we all took them as a joke tbh. Now today in 2023, I respect them a lot more than I did back in the 80s.

In terms of what Mike Portnoy said near the start about Twisted Sister paying their dues & playing 5 nights a week & multiple times throughout the day & being New York's first metal band to counter what Iron Maiden - Judas Priest - UFO - Motorhead were doing. With myself being Canadian & growing up with the metal bands such as Helix - RaZoR - Voivod - Annihilator - Sacrifice - Exciter & finally the hardest working thrash band not only in Canada but in the whole world hands down & that is the mighty ANVIL who have released 19 studio albums to date & soon to be 20 which will tie them with the awesome OVERKILL thrash band. As most i'm sure have seen the movie "The Story Of Anvil" & even if your not a fan of Anvil's music then you can atleast appreciate there drive & passion for their music & not giving up like Twisted Sister has done for many many years, but with Anvil it's much harder because they keep making new music where as Twisted Sister only released a handful of albums & rode their hit songs coat tails for decades in which are great songs but i think that's what you call classic's act or tribute band in a way, i'm trying to think of the word but i'm sure you's know what i mean. ANVIL & OVERKILL have been creating new music for decades & backing it up on the road & rinse & repeat lol.

Im 37. I love twisted sister to be honest i started listening to them from hearing "the kids are back" on 1 of the jackass movies. Then realized they were the band from pee wees big adventure.
Myself & my Partner of The Sam Turek Sound. Would wait until just the right hour or we would feel the crowd. We used to DJ with live performances. Sam was more into the Fifties & Pop Hits I was more into the Eighties Rock @ the time. The children loved us, but I agree D, it took dedication !!! 🤘
So here’s my take on this. Used to see twisted in the late 70s in Westchester county Great bar band. Packed houses every time. Kenny the original bass player was really great. Also Tony the drummer was good also. I loved it but as I got older I began to think. Ripped off the New York dolls! Their club performances started to get to the point where their set was 10 songs and the rest was all talk. Then came the record deal. The mixes and the guitar tones were terrible. The songs are bad. The icing on the cake for me was when I went to the NY auto show a few years back. There was Dee standing at some booth. You can take a picture with him and get his autograph for ten bucks! Really? You can’t make that up.
One thing that I don't like about Mark Mendoza is that he did not Shave his Beard during the recent years with Twisted with the Make Up. He should have kept it Traditional. Why was he such a prick about it. Dee asked him to shave but Mark had a Shit about it.
This little institution has more clout than RRHF in Ohio.....rapping...is talking....rap means talk....there is no path to music via rap...it's metered,has time,but it's not music,not trying to piss anyone off,but if you going to show up at a battle of wits,at least show up armed....rap has no place in the hall of fame....start a hip hop house of fame ,and they still get the lil talent validation....no confusion about what's going on here....not hateful Just a bit annoyed,but I'm nobody so have a great day ✌️
