This is exactly the kind of thing I've missed from CCP's marketing. Silly, and slightly unconventional. It's good to bring our heads out of the "grimdark" trough every once in a while and come up for air.

I'm forced to disagree. There was no CONCORD involvement, therefore they were in low-sec at the least. You leave high sec, you know the risks.

EvE takes way too much work to play for any of my friends to enjoy it. im unfortunately alone on this one :/
Not to mention the time to invest in capital ships only to lose them to griefers flying around in cheap ships.
@@drmcgeebox1 there are no "griefers" in low/0.0 thou... and that's where you fly capitals. Not sure if there are any in eve in general- this isn't minecraft and the other guy isn't jealous of your castle, he wants a killmail. Also there needs to be destruction for industry/ mining to work.

I would love to get more of my friends involved, they like the stories I tell them about our big fleet fights. Unfortunately when I call them up to see them live... they see clients crashing.... 10% tidi... frustration with modules... 30 mins of relogging..... Pls help....
None of that really happens unless you're in supermassive brawls, and then it's sort of your fault. There's only so much CCP can do to keep the servers running.
Try scaling it down a little bit, maybe go for 100+ man fights instead of 1000+ man fights, and you'll get better performance with just as much excitement. Actually, you'll get more excitement because you can actually play without starting the servers on fire.
When i see gameplay all i see is a bunch of windows with lists and some squares and lines, i never see actual ships firing cannons because actual gameplay is just zoomed out as much as possible.
That will never happen. It's been more than 7 years of 1000+ players fights and almost 0 improvement on stability and performance. Actually in the last period it started to get worse and worse in terms of performance. When you have a large number of players investing time and resources into defending or attacking objectives, what you are talking about is impossible, unless we all give up on playing and the servers will be empty which is exactly the opposite of what this movie is suggesting. We all love this game. We want to have fun and enjoy it AS it is advertised. I wish... really wish.... more effort is put into this issue.
yeah right, a few years back nodes died with 2000 players duking it out. The server didn't die just got very slow with 6000 people around a Keepstar a few months back. I don't see what you are talking about.
In other games your Instances are just limited to a number of players where you don't have that issue and people are alway on about how these don't have such problems... in eve you don't have that luxus so there has to be a compromise.
Exactly, a few months ago the server didn't die with 6000+ players on it. Now a supernode crashes with ~3500 players on it.

my prob is i am a major recruiter for my alliance and they made the rewards not worth the time i spend recruiting any more, and less new players coming to the game, game play fixes i think are spot on for now
Why i had to recruit if the game seems broken?
The ending is true. If you attack a loner NPC venture (that belongs to some kind of "Expedition"), you are doomed. The venture has "friends" and they are likely much stronger than your friends (if any)

I first played EVE in 2006, and I've only played actively for about 6 or 7 of those 18 years. But I keep coming back. I can't say why, but...
Anyhow, the ad. I thought it was clever. All the comments I see are valid, calling primary on a Venture, that it's in structure, and especially the three Ravens. WTF are they even going to DO against Frigates? Maybe they have some medium Drones?
I'd like to see this ad everywhere! It's a great one that should pull more people to the game.

Unfortunately, my game playing friends and relations are wimpy souls that play WoW, WoT, WoWS or some other game for children. However, I did appreciate the Recruiting ad.
Alright, someone needs to remake this but when he goes to jump the gate get traffic controlled and sit there for 1 hour before it continues, then when he gets his friends and they shoot the venture, socket closed.
Tidi only occurs with thousands of people in space at one time. Jim's small gang, and the venture's half? A drop in the bucket even if those ravens had a handful of other ships on their way.
Dropping vultures would be better tho

This probably didn't even cost $10k to produce, which in advertising is peanuts. Pretty sure it's all employees and locations in and around CCP headquarters, using filming equipment they already have. Would be surprised if it took more than a few days to make.

Go back in time about 7-10 years when they were sold on the web store. They're models of the old battleships before they got revamped with newer, fancier graphics and game models.

Lingua Franca is English. Expand your horizons and pick up a 2nd or 3rd language.
Well, it's not exactly like most English speakers feel compelled to study a second or third language… So I can't say I wholly blame him.

Most countries force kids to learn a second language at school, yet when they suck at the second language they don't fail the year and repeat it seems... when I was in school in the 80s & 90s 3 or 4 languages was the norm. English and Afrikaans were compulsory throughout primary & highschool and failing either you failed the year. They also made you do your regional local dialect like Zulu for 2 years in primary school, and in highschool you had to do 2 years of French, German or Latin (largely pointless, but maybe you want to become a lawyer, back then it was a compulsory part of univeraity LLB curriculum). And now I'm bitching about "When I was growing up..." Christ I'm getting old 🤦🏽♂️
