- Uh so basically the story is about what if toya didn't come to weekend garage for the last time and akito just gave up trusting on toya because of that.
Toya would try to find another way to rebel but realizing that it's futile he returns to follow his dad
Akito probably would still be able to surpass rad weekend but it just took longer, he probably doesn't feel much spark anymore (The "things no longer fun without you" ahh situation)
So one day they got drunk and start spiraling, they regret their decision in the past (for giving up on each other quickly)
That night they drank again till their mind felt numb, that's that
Edit:
I should add, yes the vocaloid would still be the same
They tried to persuade toya and akito but in the end they can't change people's mind, in the end the vocaloids, like it or not, has to accept the person choice itself
So miku gave akito and toya a last warning that the decision is theirs, but if they didnt wanna go back then sooner or later they'll regret it
Which is why when "the biggest piece of shit is" part miku appears because at that time akito and toya remembered miku's last warning

anyways, this was really fun to watch- the references to the original mv are really nice (the phone scrolling at the beginning specifically) and like. by making the lyrics match up to the images (toya "drinking" (singing) to kill his solitude in which akito finds him, akito saying wherever he goes is horrible (because toya's there?), and the sequence right after where they're calling each other idiots (like how they probably saw their partner blaming them during the "akty divorce arc")) ITS SO GOOD!! THE SEQUENCE AND THE COLOURS ARE SO GOOD!! I THOUGHT YUKISORA WAS OUR NEW YEARS GIFT BUT YOU DELIVERED TWICE!! (we love you pii we all say in unison)

AAAAHHH, LETS GOOO! I let out an audible gasp when I saw you had uploaded, and the fact that it's akitoya related made me incredibly happy! I'll take any akitoya content I can get, even the depressing doomed yaoi lol. This is incredible, I love the neon, as well as the black and gray. I don't know if I'm thinking about this how you intended but I'll say it anyway: in all the scenes where there is only black and gray, I can't help but interpret it as Akito and Toya being numb and going through the motions of life. While they might be successful, they are ultimately unhappy. When the scenes with neon occur, I think of those bright colors as being thoughts of their regrets relating to their relationship and the way their lives have gone because of it, as though this mistake, again, represented by the neon, is the one thing that haunts them, the one thing that can't be numbed and drowned out by the black and gray. I'm sorry if I thought of all that wrong! Also, I wanted to say that in addition to all the wonderful colors in this mv, I absolutely adore your art style and animation! I really really love the visceral expressions on Akito's and Toya's faces throughout this, but especially near the end, it was a great way to end this and show how much they regret they hold. Sorry for rambling, thank you so much for this and I hope you have a happy new year!
