I know this vid is a yr old....but I just wanted to say THANKYOU Joe for the suggestion of using a headlamp for lighting the field of work....that is genius...being a Sr and just renewing my tooling passion...I had issues with shadows...NOT ANY MORE!!! the head lamp is PERFECT!! no shadows and I also adjusted the height of my work space so my back thanks you too...Im super excited to rekindle this artform that appears to be having a resurgence of pupularity....
Hey Joe! Great videos! Wanted to share another option, I use a neck light zero shadowing. They’re rechargeable and fairly inexpensive on Amazon. Keep up the good work sir!
Great tip! I'd love to see some storage tips as you set up your new shop. I recently moved my leather shop out of the house into a rented space and I'm struggling with storage. Its looking like a mess 😵💫
I have a drafting table light bar that's on an adjustable arm. It mounts with a c clamp but can be pulled off the clamp and has a peg. So I drilled holes in certain spots, which allows me to have light wherever I need it, from any angle. Super bright LED, low amp (since I'm off grid this is important) and has dimmer adjustment.

Head lamps are hard to beat. Almost a must for my little shop, but if I turn all my lights on. You need sunglasses lol
I have a hanging overhead light ,bit I use a flexible snake light, across my shoulders... it works great.
