Thanks folks 😊
My ex-wife, Plaintiff, once asked me: “Who do you love more...me, or your guitar?” I said “ Well, that depends....which guitar are we talking about?”
Love it! I laughed out loud at that. Read it out to my wife..... 🤣
You were married to Plaintiff, too?? Man, that bisch sure gets around...😂
I could never truly love an inanimate object. But then again I’d never want to spend every waking second with an animate one. (335 for me)
Haha
That gave me a laugh.
This gentleman is clearly a connoisseur. What a superb set (that must be worth a small fortune, collectively, given the condition)
Everybody's a teenager again when they start looking at guitars!
Oh, yes! Those Gretsches got me!
Your Dad has a real passion
He's gonna stay young forever!
Thanks to you and your Dad for sharing all these gems.
Thank you N McG 👍. He’ll be pleased to read your comment.
How Lucky to have a so cool dad.
Indeed! Thank you Norm, his influence on me runs very deep.
Now this gentleman has impeccable taste. Awesome stuff, and I love the joy that he clearly takes in having them.

You know what I just randomly clicked on this for no real reason and felt compelled to leave a small comment to say how nice the video was to watch. A loving father and son reminiscing. Thank you for posting it.
Thank you Shed Loads, what a nice comment to leave! Delighted you liked my vid. 👍
Give your Dad a hug every chance you get. His enthusiasm is contagious. (It got you, right?) Thanks for sharing! This made my Sunday morning.

That 4th guitar. Honey, Paul Reed Smith. Beautiful!
I loved the PRS Santana guitar very nice. Again, so glad that a father can share this passion with his son and his son has the passion too! Wonderful, just wonderful.
Thank you MPNNag! Yes, I’m a lucky boy to be able to share that. Cheers 👍

I am dying with envy and drooling over your wonderful guitars. Now at 76 I am still dreaming of owning and playing one those guitars.
Thanks for watching Gus 👍
@@paulstaffordcook8799 I’d sure will be glad to see you or your dad play.
"That's the good thing about the guitar; no matter how good you are, and no matter how long you've had it, you still want to play."
Truer words were never spoken, Mr. Cook!
Thank you Burnwash. And cheers for watching 👍
WOW.... wasn't expecting much... but was well surprised.
Big respect to your mom. Wives are usually the roadblock to a fine collection such as this.
Thanks Wade, I hear you 🤣. Cheers for watching
If the wife moans, buy a drum set
Never ever listen to her.
Down the road, these are investments. Simple.
Sven you are so right...my bank balance is rubbish but I've got some nice guitars in my man cave that I can enjoy now...that I'll enjoy until I get old...some might say I'm already old now at 52 lol..but I get more pleasure from them than the 10 k I'd have in the bank if I'd stuck to a cheap strat copy ...live now play later
Paul Cartwright i’m 49.
I ALMOST sold my first one.
Well, i did, to one of my top5 best friends, but i was cleaning it before taking it to him and in between that he had something to do and then 1 day passed and...next time we talked he wasn’t thrilled and say let’s cancel and i said cool.
Years later(2017) my dad died of cancer. And that first guitar he bought it for me for a bday. He actually went with me to the music store(this was in the 1980s. Gibsons, fender, kramers, hamers, ibanez... store had them all) and said pick the one you think will be right for you and as a beginner. I chose a red hondo h-700 all-star. $250. Still have it today and i will NEVER ever sell it!
Amazing guitars spectacular
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, two great guitar players there ! Such classic guitars and gentlemen !
Ah, thank you Ron, delighted to read such a nice comment 👍
@@paulstaffordcook8799 I've lived in Nashville my entire life and played guitar here. But your style is more "Nashville" than most any player here now. A true honor to see you and your Dad with all his great guitars. Truly inspirational. Thanks to both of you !
Cheers Ron! Now there’s a bucket list item for me.... To visit Nashville 🤣. One day, one day. Want to visit Gruhn’s guitars! And I want to just sit on a street corner with a coffee and just soak it all up. Maybe see if I can spot me a guitar hero walking by, like a Tom Bukovac !
@@paulstaffordcook8799 Come on down brother, ill give you the tour ! You are always welcome !
You are so lucky to have a father like you have. He is an awesome man i wish i could spend some time with the two of you. Great relationship you both have together. I appreciate te both of you. Thanks so very much.
Thanks so much for that lovely comment Sonny Daze 🙏
My Lord, what a beautiful collection and your dad is a real class act.

Never seen so many gretsch guitars and they always have fantastic colours
Real eye candy, they are!
Great guitars, great Father, great Son! Very special to see this.

Now I just learn you can never have enough guitars🌹🌈🎷🎷
Never!

Thanks for Sharing 👍🏻 What a nice fella Some lovely pieces there Paul 👍🏻
Thank you Robbo fazza! Yes, it was a real joy to see them all. Cheers for watching 😀
I thought I had a nice guitar collection but, having watched this, I guess I was wrong!! This collection is off the scale cool. I can't stop salivating!!
It's unreal! And the condition of them is superb.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful guitar collection with us Mr. Cook.
Thanks James, yes it was a joy to see them all yesterday. Cheers 👍
Yes, thank you sharing your Dad’s collection.
Your Dad’s just as much a Rare Gem as those
gems, reminds me of Mark K. song “I Dug Up
A Diamond”
Love this video! Your dads a funny man “Cheeky bastard, it’s 2 grand and he’s being sarcastic” had me in bits!
I’ve not got a collection quite like this but have a couple strats and a beautifully faded cherry red 1971 ES-335 that I’ll never part with
Thank you Connor, delighted you enjoyed our wee video. I’m intrigued by your beautifully faded ES-335 from ‘71. My mind is conjuring up a lovely image!
I still have my first electric--a 1965 Gibson ES-330 TD...sunburst. Still love it. But now, I'm a bass player!
awesome guitar collection how cool it must of been to grow up around this collection.
Yes, I guess it’s no wonder I ended up be a guitar guy 😀
Quality over quantity. Very good.
Thank you for this tour - what a beautiful bunch of guitars! So much to love!
What a cool dad!
It doesn’t matter what the subject is, hearing someone talk so passionately about what they love is always great.
This collection is something else and your dad is cool as fuck.
Peace and love to you both

How delightful, to have such a cool Dad to share this mutual passion with !
Thanks man 👍
Absolute goldmine when you take that from your old man🙏🏻
I love your Dad's enthusiasm going through these guitars and I think that Gibson acoustic sounds incredible!
Cheers Scott, delighted you enjoyed the vid 👍
Yeah very responsived Gibson accoustic i ever heard in my life ✌
I have the same guitar and yes I can confirm it sounds good
Those older Gibson jumbos and even the J-45s have so much volume and fullness.
Wow 2 things first : This guy had a good job, he also had a very understanding wife. The great thing about collecting guitars these days is it's like collecting art, the prices only go one way.
What a beautiful and awesome collection 👍👍👍✌️
Beautiful collection, your dads got impeccable taste!
Thank you Andy!
Now, THAT is a collection!
Thanks wwland 😃
Your Dad has awesome taste in guitars! Good for him!!
I wish that I had a dad that was into music, not to mention his awesome guitar collection. This guy is very lucky to have a dad like this and this guy is an awesome player.
Thank you Michael, what a lovely comment! Appreciated 👍
Wish showed off his playing.
Your dad has good taste in guitars for sure. I was worried what my wife would think if I bought a second guitar. Now I think I will.
Don't worry' it not until you get into double figures that the trouble starts, after that 25 or maybe 35 is not such an issue as they don't see where you have hidden them!
Ok, I showed this video for my wife. And she approved my idea of a wonderful guitar collection like your dad. She also allowed me to buy new guitar every year or two. Today is a good day to die, hahahaha. Thank you!
🤣, love it! Yes, well I wish you well in expanding your collection 🤘
Wow that is one awesome guitar collection your Dad has there i love that Stratocaster i never seen one that beautiful in my life its gorgeous.
Thanks Patrick, yes his collection is even larger than I remembered! And just look how shiny they all are 😀. Cheers for watching.
That is a mint collection. Thank you both for sharing with us.
What a collection! Your dad seems like a champion too:)
Thank you Craig! Appreciated
Very nice to see you and yr DAD...my son never took up guitar...so I open cases and all of mine ..give me something special...Les Paul,Tele,Strat...had to have at least one good one of each..but 67 I’m winding down but passion still there...I heard Gibson reissued now the gold Les Paul deluxe mini buckers like 70’s...not the 2015 debacle....cheers from NYC...
What a smashing chap your Father is... You both have a very close and strong bond which shines through. An enviable collection worth a 'mint' - I'm sure. For me, the Gretsch guitars won my heart - works of art. The best was that Hofner. Looked online with a view to buying for years back in the early 2000s 😎😎
I’m Paul’s son. That is a very nice thing to say!
@@calgingerbread3526 Hi Cal. Seems like you won the lottery in the family department. Cool Dad and cool grandfather. Of course, non of this guitar collection and playing would exist without the unsung heroines - your Mum and Grand-mum! Are you also following the family thirst for guitars and amps or are you on your own mission in life? Either way, if you follow your heart and dreams you won't regret much. My thang was to travel the world and I sure have done that more than most!
Hi Rocksteady! Yes, I’ll echo my son’s words and thank you for your lovely comment, appreciated. It’s amazing how you get to know your subscribers a little. Even though you’re way over there in Thailand, I feel a little more connected to you (and this wider RUclips / guitar community) as time goes on. Amazing, this world is getting smaller!
@@paulstaffordcook8799 Hi Paul. Cheers. Travelling opens up the mind and heart - much the same as music. Right back at you on how your channel brings people closer together - you only have to look at how I ran into another subscriber while talking Blues Junior and Boss Katana on Facebook.
Rocksteady, I am now a subscriber!
It's a joy that "civilians" can never quite understand
That’s a great collection and your Dad is clearly one of he coolest Dads around
Its a dream !!! He Is a very happy man and rich too !
Actually, not rich, but just poured his resources into that one part of his life. He drives a bus pass and tonight he is having beans on toast 🤣. I jest a little, but no, not rich. Cheers for watching 👍
Remarkable taste your father has. I can't remember how many times I said 'WOW" when he open the case. Thank you both for sharing.
Your dad is a joyful man.
His enthusiasm is infectious! He's a young man at heart! Paul, lucky you, to have such a Dad.
Respect to your dad and even more to your mom for allowing him to gain such a beautiful collection! My collection stopped at 13, and wife too wise now for me to sneak anymore in;)
Wow, lovely collection ,thanks to your Dad for showing us 👍
Oh my heart...what a stunning, gorgeous collection, I would play every one of them. Thanks so much for the viewing Mr's Stafford Cook
Thank you Michael! Yes, it was quite a thrill to see them all. My favorite is that old Gretsch for the mid 60’s. Just gorgeous 😀
A beautiful collection and one to be proud of!
Great collection thank you for sharing
Beautiful collection Thanks for sharing.
I'm about the same age as your dad and I too am guitar mad. We will both have similar memories of cheap 50s guitars with ads in the paper for them costing 6gns on easy payments. Drooling over guitar catalogues from Ivor Mairants and Hofner. Then living through the sixties as teenagers, what a time! I've collected a few guitars over the years too but not quite like your dad's. Hope he has many more years of enjoyment from that wonderful collection.
Wow.Your loving Dad is truly an electric guitar fanatic and has a great, amazing and incredible taste in high---quality and " high---end" electric guitars that cost thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars in today's market and it will even cost more in many, many and many futures to come considering and knowing that he owns 25 guitars.I love his Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster collections as well as his Paul Reed Smith and Rickenbacker electric guitars. And awesome video or vlog,Paul Stafford Cook!!!
Thank you Greg, delighted you liked the vid. My Dad is really proud to see so many nice comments! 🙏👍
Your Dad has impeccable taste in guitars, and thanks to you both for sharing. It's great to see his excitement as he tells the stories behind some of them. I think we all can relate to that.
Many thanks.
Thank you Don, appreciate your nice comment. 👍
Wow thanks for sharing this amazing collection of your dad's Blown Away such quality and well taken care of instruments
Thank you David, and each guitar has its own duster 🤣. Cheers for watching.
That was absolutely fascinating. Thanks for posting that. What a collection!
Thank you Marc. Yes, I’d forgotten just how many he has, and just how shiny he keeps them 🤣. Cheers for watching Marc
Absolutely awesome collection. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful guitars, but I can really appreciate how much care he shows while handling these guitars. He has obviously taken great care of his collection.
I am salivating...
I hope these beautiful pieces of art are being played every now and then, not just stuck away in cases.
Fantastic collection!
He rotates playing them regularly, albeit in the house. And then carefully wipes them down afterward. So whilst they’re not embedded with sweat (like my guitars) they’re are still appreciated and loved. Cheers for watching. 👍
Shockingly good collection. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you trilogyopus! I’ve told my Dad that his first RUclips appearance seems to have been a hit! Cheers for watching.
Father knows what is talking about, always listen to your dad.😎that first hallow body, just wow.
The Hofner!
Great video Paul 👍👍
Nice comment. All u need to do now is change ur profile picture!( just kidding)👍🏼
Thanks Tottenhamtillidie. Yes, it was a joy to see them all yesterday. Cheers for watching.
Great collection.........amazing...........You are being an awesome caretaker of a lot of guitar history.
Not a big fan of electrics or Gretsch but I was blown away by your dad's enthusiasm. He obviously appreciates them all and although there are quite a few which appear to be very similar he understands the minute differences that make them all very individual.
Eclectic collection. Thanks for sharing.
I wish we could get a part 2 where you guys light some of them up so we can hear them.
Good idea....! Cheers for watching 👍
Yes! That's a must! I'm sure we'll see a mint condition vintage amp, and/or an old worn one that sounds gorgeous and has a hundred stories to tell. Cheers! 👍
Pleasure to watch. Fantastic collection. Fantastic taste.
Wow. What a beautiful collection. His taste in guitars especially got my attention since I love strats and Gretsch guitars. Thank you for sharing. I truly enjoyed this.
Thank you Shaun! Yes, a lovely collection, delighted you enjoyed the vid 👍
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed watching this. I’m a bit of a collector and have some interesting and rare guitars too. I like seeing other people’s collections, they’re always very unique to the person. If the old boy would like to see them I’m happy to show him.
Thank you chaos4316, appreciate you taking the time to comment. 👍
Thanks for sharing the joy of owning such a lovely collection of guitars. My wife, an excellent pianist, owns an upright and a Roland keyboard and doesn't see the need for anymore. Unfortunately she applies the same logic to my guitars... a mere 5 is 3 to many! Over the past 50 years I have enjoyed buying, owning, holding and smelling( yes my classical smells lovely!) my guitars as much as I've enjoyed trying to play them and has given me enormous pleasure. Note to young guitarists I regret selling any of my guitars and would love to have them all back. Thanks again and keep collecting!
Wow absolutely brilliant collection just brilliant
