  • Dr Martin drains malignant ascites in Africa. A trocar is inserted through the abdominal wall, into the peritoneal cavity to drain the malignant transudate. Presence of the fluid turns the pottential peritoneal space into an actual space. The lady felt much better after drainage of this pathological fluid.

      It’s not water. It’s buildup of fluids in the stomach because the liver is not working normally

    CAC Gokhru capsule is pure ayurvedic medicine which is very effective in ascites as it has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce the swelling of the abdomen. It also acts as diuretic which causes increased urine secretion from the body and removal of all the toxins. These capsules contain pure extract of Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris).

    What is the relationship of tb and ascites? I do have tb infected in intestine and I have ascites at the same time. They gave me water pills but my abdominal pain makes it worst. So they decided to stop my medication. And now, I only take tb medicine. What will happen to the water inside of my stomach?

      You would still need that drained if your stomach is distended. The fluid can cause infection. I’m sorry I don’t know about having TB at the same time. How bad is your ascites? I go every 2-3 weeks to get a parentheses .

    Does UTI can cause ascites?

    • @mikepreston-engel8869
      @mikepreston-engel8869 4 года назад

      Highly unlikely. The huge majority of ascites is caused by cirrhosis combined with liver failure and often chronic kidney disease can make it refractory.(recurring)

    • @ruicastro1410

      Largely depends on the reason for ascites. Overall people with severe ascitis have cirrhoris with liver failure and portal hypertension, which is a severe condition requiring liver transplantation in many cases. So you can say that severe ascites is many times a manifestation of a severe underlying illness, and therefore associated with low lifespan and poor prognosis.

    Can malnutrition cause ascites?

    • @ruicastro1410
      @ruicastro1410 2 года назад +2

      If it is severe malnutrition, to the point of sarcopenia and you don't have enough protein intake for aminoacid anabolism, then yes.
      We have a protein in major quantities in our bloodstream called albumin, which mainly acts as a transporter for many substrates. This is also one of the main sources of oncotic pressure inside your blood vessels (the concentrating force that keeps liquid inside your blood vessels instead of letting the fluid escape to the 3rd space, like the peritoneum (abdominal cavity).
      If you have malnutrition and can't produce enough albumin in your liver, the oncotic pressure is going to drop and allow free fluid to escape to the abdominal cavity (ascitis) and other locations in your body, like your ankles or the space around your eyes.

      @@bigrob4840 Long text bellow. TL:DR - The decision to perform paracentesis depends largely on the base illness, level of ascites and response to classic pharmacological treatment and base disease control.
      There are many factors involving the decision to perform paracentesis. Paracentesis can both be diagnostic (to determine the characteristics of the fluid) or evacuative (for symptomatic relief or clinical improvement). Still, if the person has a chronic illness or any other health condition working as a causal factor (say, for example, a person with portal hypertension resulting from liver cirrhosis), many physicians and peer-revied guidelines support eviction of the cause and pharmacological treatment with drugs like diuretics as an initial approach. Still, this can vary geographically and institutionally. I'm guided by European guidelines so I can't confirm how this works for the USA.
      If I may ask (and, please, feel completely free to refuse to share this information if it makes you uncomfortable or you just wish not to speak about it), what is the reason for your malnourished health state? Do you have some sort of systemic illness or psycological eating disorder?

      @@bigrob4840 I’m very sorry to hear that. I hope things get better for you, friend.
      Without physically examining you, I can’t say for sure, but from your history I’m pretty sure your abdomen is bloated due to build up of fluid (ascites) and an enlarged liver (hepatomegaly, caused by a liver doubling its work rate to compensate for the lack of protein in your diet). All this is most likely caused by the loss of oncotic pressure we talked about above. I’m actually surprised the medical staff would say it’s just fat. Anyways, like I said, I’m not able to give you confirmation.
      Read online about a condition called Kwashiorkor. It fits your story and physical characteristics. It might help your doctors consider more diagnosis if you talk about it. The good news about this is that it is reversible once your diet is fixed.
      I honestly hope the doctors can solve your problems and you can live an healthy and prosperous life from now on. Thanks for sharing.
