    Thank you for this video. I believe this is what my mom is experiencing despite her trying to withhold information (for my sake I'm sure). I want to learn as much about is as I can. This won't be an easy journey.

    That was helpful. My mum has secondary terminal cancer following a hysterectomy and has recently developed ascites and it helps to know more about the condition.

    Fairly challenging?
    Oh my, if you only knew. It's a miserable way to die because the cramping pain accompanied with bloating, heartburn, indigestion are horrible not fairly challenging.
    I drain myself daily at least 1000ml.

      You bring up a good point about communication. Constantly check for understanding between your doc and you, and whenever you hear "fairly challenging" know that horrible is a possibility. I've learned these layman's tricks from 12 years reading and listening. And to your point, jeez 1000 ml a day...I am so sorry and thank you for showing us your perspective. :) cancergrace.org/node/add/forum

      I'm so sorry about your friends diagnosis. Often with cancer care it's possible to manage symptoms like ascities when anticancer treatment is given. I hope this is true for your friend. Best of luck and please let us know if you have questions moving forward. cancergrace.org/forum

    I saw a study where they used mistletoe therapy for malignant ascites. It was given through a catheter into the peritoneal space. Do you know anything regarding this type of care? After surgery and failed chemo.

    • @CancergraceOrg
      @CancergraceOrg  Год назад

      I'm sorry you're having to search for this info. Mistletoe has not been proven to help with malignant ascites. It appears that it's been tested but not to the extent that it shows proof of efficacy. Here is a link to the present standards. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8732893/
      I hope you find relief soon.

    Lung cancer with no cirrhosis of liver or liver failure, but did have malignant pleural effusion of the lung, so lung cancer can also suffer from ascites, we are waiting to find out if it is malignant

      I'm so sorry your sister is going through this. If the ascites is caused by the cancer really treating the cancer is the best way to treat the ascites.
      I hope she does well and all the best to you,
      Janine
