🖌A brush in the last moments of its life - I know what you mean, Stuart, and before I forget, I'm here for the fantastic salad 🤣 because the sky comes with it anyway, and it always looks great, as you've shown us once again. - Good evening, so, you found a wonderful painting in the "mess", and I was pretty sure about that before. Your young student could have done worse for you, and you still would have managed to get nice textures or effects onto the canvas. What's on there already looks quite splendid, I'm already excited for a second part. Thank you, Stuart, have a good rest of the week. 👍💐
Yes, as usual it's the sky, I'll always come back for the sky. I think the 'sap-green-salad' needs some colour variation now, but the skies will undoubtedly draw me in. Nice work, Stuart.
Great video and painting. I like both the sky and salad. I can't choose between the two. Thanks Stuart for a beautiful painting. Can't wait for part 2.
No matter how many times I watch subsequent videos, I’m always impressed and always learn interesting tricks. Equally attracted to sky and landscape. Maybe 60/40 sky landscape.
I'm intrigued. Can't wait to see what you do to this painting next. Your student must have been astounded by what you have achieved from his first brush strokes. Bet you've boosted his confidence no-end.
As I'm looking down at my pallet with 8 colors and my assortment of 10 or so brushes I can't help to feel like I've been lied to..lol..1 cheap brush, green paint and a cool European accent and ...Wah Lah!!..a masterpiece!!.He is very inspiring and not only an amazing artist but his style and approach has helped me channel severe anxiety and Adhd issues I've been dealing with for over 40 years..Thanks Stuart
You seen so many landscape that wathever we scrach on the canvast YOU will find what to do with it. You're a creator and you did this for decades, creating all kinds of set up. YOU ARE SO TALENTED !
I heard a similar theory that seeing a landscape or anywhere into far distance has a calming effect on us since it would give our predecessors an overview of their environment! It's also impressive that you were able to do a painting by proxy 😉 love the themes in this video!
Really enjoy your approach. Have been watching all your videos as the landscapes down under and a little more of the sandy amber colours and blue-green, but I am getting lots of ideas. I'll be able to experiment with my next painting using your demonstrated techniques shown. Fantastic, and loving the journey.
Honestly I can't make a choice between the sky and the salad, you always do such a beautiful job of both ... but for my own work I am more partial to the salad. Thanks to you I have improved my work with skies, those came pretty naturally to me but with your help it's even better. 💕🙏
A very beautiful and detailed landscape! I would really look forward to the second part of this video, it would be interesting. I have a few more videos to watch and then I have to start practicing. Many many thanks Stuart!
I came to this video because of the title. I wanted to learn what to watch for in the marks. I am captivated by your process and hope to begin exploring my rendition of it any day now.
Inspiring and entertaining! Thank you so much for sharing both your skill and personality. You make it all new and interesting. Best wishes from Canada.
Thanks two on painting helped , seeing John put down paint ,but still, is the paint heavy on brush then oil on paint or is the paint oily mobile, I’m still having trouble adjusting paints , did you mix paint to oil then ad a bit more oil to move paint & make it where towel moves easy &erases [ lost 🕯 I never see you blending paint or not many times at least still no cameras on pallet. And reall y liked the Salad in this piece i saw ponds n fence lines l love the way darkness in sky pushed the ground into another picture than the one I say in the early stage of painting ,and as you say ,Because I can thanks
Back again, and I must have missed the first few minutes, the last time, otherwise, I would have commented? The way John applied his paint, made me think he hasn't seen many of your videos? I was expecting to see him splash it on, like 'The Master', but he looked like he'd never held a brush before, let alone painted/created something? I like the trees and sky, and the overall composition, but (in my humble opinion), the grass is 'too busy', and there was no need for a mountain.
I tried for the first time your approach in a video you did .. watching you. .. The brushes I bought were cheap from lowes. But the hairs kept coming out in the painting 😂anyway. When I painted the sky it all went to mud. Lord. You have magic with that brush. It’s hard. Frustrated.
I'm cracking up, people asking you why you don't paint buildings lol. I don't want any buildings in my paintings either, no humans, no animals, the only sign of the human race I might include might be a pathway. I like raw nature the way it's supposed to be. In fact I'm even more extreme than you are, I will paint a seascape but no way in hell will I put a boat in it lol.
I like the sky and the salad, but I also like the commentary and instruction. I could see the potential landscape at the beginning. It perplexes me to figure out how to avoid mud, as you say. I know I'm going to have to transition to oils if I am going to try this. Acrylics just won't blend or wipe, and they dry too d*** fast.
"When something doesn't go according to plan, it opens up a new way of doing something." Good thought to remember:) I'm enjoying this video immensely.
I have watched all of his videos! I have a serious Davies Video Addiction.
MORE! I MUST have MORE! 😁
Grateful for your time. You sound great by the way - hope you are feeling well.
Beautiful again, thank you Stuart. The landscape has so much variety, you can find yourself walking there. For a long hike with my doggy.
Good day Stuart, i watch your videos to learn about all of it. I hope this day brings you wellness and joy while you paint.

This is not just the salad, it’s the whole meal with awesome sauce! Love this video, your a great teacher! Looking forward to the next video! Cheers!❤

I love how this really came together.
29:22 I LOVE how well the blue and the green go together!!! It is striking!!!!
Your sky's were the initial hook bunow I find the landscape more and more the area that intriges me. Finding the landscape explains it perfectly.
No matter how many times I watch subsequent videos, I’m always impressed and always learn interesting tricks. Equally attracted to sky and landscape. Maybe 60/40 sky landscape.
Another great painting, thanks so much for sharing, greetings from Australia 🇦🇺.

Thanks Stuart for all your teaching videos.I woke up to the fact that I needed to source industrial paper for the reasons you just mentioned,
Thank you Stuart. It’s very inspiring watching you paint, and hearing your explanation of what you are doing as you paint.

Fascinated by both salad and sky.

Giggled all through this video. That funny pill you took this morning is really working, I'm rather surprised I don't hear your student's guffaws.
Fascinating video, Stuart. It definitely intrigues me enough to want to paint under your inspiring tutelage.
Great stuff both Sky and land .Please more oceans

Thank you, Stuart for this delightful video! As usual, I learned a great deal from you. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes, love watching you smooth a sky but annoyed with myself that I smear them when I try. Im not going to give up though, I will get it right soon
I love all your videos ❤❤❤❤
Modern master, very good teacher !
Thank you for sharing your skills !
Merci Stuart, belle journée à vous
I think that sketch book is a fantastic idea, being able to oil paint on it!
Love the way you found something out of your students mess. Great viewing
I'm here for the sky. The sap green salad I got, thanks to you! (i never let my brush just go so freely until I found your videos :)
Beautiful painting.
50/50 on sky and salad, they need each other 😉
I love the colors and contrasts
Wonderful and so entertaining 👏 😀
Marvellous can't wait.
Inspiring and entertaining! Thank you so much for sharing both your skill and personality. You make it all new and interesting. Best wishes from Canada.
I would like to see the finished work and how you add the color.
I think I’m going to have a go !! 👍
Well done, thank you.
thanks for another great lesson.
Ron Gillis in Winnipeg. I’m here for the whole enchilada. Thanks
Here for Salad, Sky, and where the Sky meets the Salad. I love mist too but that’s just me. No mud!
Thankyou for the lovely video
As usual, I LOVED the vid immensely…..

I was here, to learn.
NICE
The tree frogs and moths are just looking for a free lesson. :)
Thank You!!!!!
Wow very nice painting Stuart, i want to ask one question if I don't have Red ochre can be use crimson Red ?
Yes, absolutely, but don't use too much.
❤
Coffee and some snacks prepared 3 2 1 :)
thanks for the better camera view :)
Thank you
The salad. The sky seems to come rather easy
surelly for the sky. cos it's a mirror against their inner self
Stuart, in this or the previous video, you recommend an artist. Remind me of his name please to save me going through both again. Thanks!
Stuart, can I paint over a dried painting that I'm unsatisfied with? Re - do the sky.
If the original is completely dry, and sanded down, there shouldn't be a problem.
I'm here for sky and salad.
1:06:57 Same thing was bothering me.
Yes, I agree. Fortunately Stuart sorted the cloud out, and the tree trunk that was taller than the tree, great!
😊

He was a bit nervous to start with. It can be a bit daunting to paint with someone watching.
@@StuartDavies When can we see Part 2, Stu?
Jawdropping - only objection is the halo on the tree in the centre.
8:42 Hahahaha:D

where is the link?
Which link?
Apologies - as I pressend 'send' (comment) you addressed it
. . . pressed
Both! 😂
Forgive me but were do you get the board you paint on
It depends on where you are. I'm in France and I get it from the local hardware store.
I'm cracking up, people asking you why you don't paint buildings lol.

I’m exactly the same 😁. People say to me,
“How about just a couple birds in the distance?”
Me: Nope
@@dshepherd107 awesome sauce!! 🙏💕
@@dshepherd107 I would love to see your work!!
I'm here strictly for the jibberish.
