    Or maybe they scored the first exchange a takedown initially, then when Chamizo came up a little they called that feet to back and 4, equaling 6? freestyle's weird

    A criminal robbery occurred here.
    Freestyle is so terrible compared to folkstyle. It adds a level of subjectivity that is so unnecessary, and it is not a logical for the spectator as witnessing control in folkstyle.

      I acutally disagree. As a viewer I much prefer to watch Freestyle over Folkstyle as I think the way you score points is much more interesting.

    Not necessarily plenty more matches to wrestle for Chamizo. He's now 31 so his time is starting to run down. That might have played part of it given that in another 4 years he'll be 35 and might not still be on the mat.

      @@sc-wrestling because of some of the great battles they've had I always think of JB when I hear about Chamizo and we know JB is quite long in the tooth. Hopefully Chamizo gets at least one more run in before retiring. Would hate to see him go out like that.

    it's not bad for judges to send this guy instead of Frank to Paris because it would be lot easier without frank to see Russian domestic battles for medals and potential Kyle Dake involvement for a place in podium.

    The two cautions are non-calls, Frank won the match no question. I believe the ref was paid off it happens all the time. Frank should appeal to the highest levels. Ok it may not be a conspiracy, but it is bad enough refereeing that it must be reversed. Bad commentary at the end Seth. At that level anyone can get put on their back, the fact that Frank got put on his back early doesn't erase the horrible caution calls that cost him the match. He won the match, the ref "gave" it to Bayramov.

      I stand by my statement in its intended context. If it’s for the match result itself, sure, the end is where it was decided. But if you’re looking at it from the perspective of trying to get better at the sport then you concentrate where the problems were that were directly in your control. That’s the perspective of this video, from a coach’s perspective.

    It’s this BS that hurts our sport more than anything else. NCAA, HS or Senior Level it doesn’t matter. The officiating is getting so bad and blatant that you can’t help but think that results like this are paid for. We gotta do better. 🙏🏼

    Unfortunately corruption and politics are alive and well in amateur sports. Does this mean Chamizo does not qualify for the Olympics?

    • @cog_of_war
      @cog_of_war 7 месяцев назад +3

      There's still a last chance qualifier, but that's easily the hardest way to qualify for the Olympics. Fill of wrestlers who this is their last chance to go.

      said from the perspective of a coach who is trying to teach kids to be respectful of referee decisions and the outcome of matches. to not complain to the ref about points and their calls, which sometimes gives up more points (and team points), and generally looks bad for the kid, the parents, the team, and the coaches who allow it. to do your best to not let the match be so close that a referee can decide it, even though you know that's not always going to be the case.
      i've coached kids who complained about bad calls every single time they lost, and it did nothing but stunt their own growth. if they complain about the ref, they don't take responsibility for the loss, they don't feel the need to work harder to get better. they completely disregard it and shrug it off. it's the same consequence of making excuses for your losses. you make your ego feel better, but you do nothing to facilitate your own personal growth. if you do that over the course of many years then you don't improve nearly as fast as someone who doesn't.
      it also facilitates a fixed mentality vs a growth one. places more importance on wins than improvement. that also stunts your growth. my videos are always made through the lens of a coach who knows how to train kids to be the best in the country, with definitive proof (i've done it many, many times)
