Hi Julia, I love your videos! You help ex-lain not only the ‘how’ but the ‘why’. Knowing the ‘why’ really helps me piece things together. Ok, you convinced me - I’m starting in to learn 3rd position. Will start with the scales that you recommend. As an adult learner, I really hated scales at the beginning but have discovered how valuable they are now and use them all the time. Thank you for your channel - take care….
Hi Jim. It's nice to know there are those out there who see the value in scales and do them all the time instead of occasionally. Good luck learning third position. 🥰
So helpful thank you, hope you remember me. 💛 And an update: I'm making so much progress, it's been one month and I'm having so much fun playing the violin 🎻, I have a very good sound, very good bowing, good bowing techniques, playing good pieces and I'm still learning, I'm just having fun and learning new things and passing time, with such an amazing instrument that is called, the violin 🎻😀😊, thank you so much Mrs. Julia 😊😀☺. 💛💚🧡
@@Violinspiration o feel like I'm the most active person on the channel on everything you post haha, thank you of course I will keep practicing everyday, thank you
Can you make a clip about how to play the same "fret" a string below? I cannot reach it in time using the same finger (to lift it up, for ex, from the D note on the A string and put it on the G note on the D string. If I have to play one string above (play up a fifth), then at least I can cheat by flattening my finger (though that might have a cost later on, since the finger is collapsed), but when I have to play a fifth below on the adjacent (below) string.. I can't do it. I can only do it by using another finger and then slide that finger back into the normal finger placement of that position. But this trick again probably has a heavy cost, since I can lose the position anchoring, or because I don't use fixed finger placement for a position I destroy the relationship between the fingers and thus my muscle memory cannot help me find other notes in that position. How is it done? (to go down a fifth, on the string below, same "fret"). Or above (up a fifth, on the next string, same "fret"). Do you have a clip about this?
I have long been realized that as far as you've extended your skill on violin position and technique, you are much like the skillful language speaker that able to advance the technique of varieties of conversation. How much more for the adornment one girl could be.
Maybe I should give myself a kick in the but and go practise again. I've played third position for some notes at the A and E string in a few pieces before. Now for the last month's I've been at a point at which the shifting and third position playing is really getting more serious and I'm not getting away with first position alternatives anymore. But boy.... I lose my focus, can't enjoy my sound, feel like everything is going wrong and this has led to me kind of stopping to play while I should have more time then ever to practise 🙈 Such a shame. I need to build up experience and confidence again, and your video made me realise that I really should go do it again.
Yes, you really should start at it again, Ineke. I really think once you start practicing, you will get your confidence back. I have seen and heard how you play, and it is just lovely. I get its hard to focus when life gets in the way, but if you just will yourself to do it, it will become easier, and so will shifting and playing in third position.🥰
I actually tried to hit a 3rd position note on the A string the other day and nailed it first time. But i was only messing around and consider it beginner's luck. I have only been practicing violin for 4 months and i am not ready to learn 3rd position yet. Maybe next year.
That's great you tried and nailed it . Best of luck when you decide to learn it for real instead of goofing around. I bet you'll get it faster than you think!😀
I challenge you that you can't play 7rings on violin it's most difficult and interesting song If you know how to play full song then please teach us also...that how to play it

Funny, though there are many classical pieces that use the E string a lot. Or is it because you don't like the sound of the E string? Is that why you don't like to use it?🤔
@@Violinspiration well I took a minute or two to check out this idea and I get the concept and I was understanding what I'm supposed to do. That might sound clumsy but thanks for the encouragement. I'm on it. I hit the C & I hit the D. 💪 Got A & B.

I am learning third position, and I am struggling with getting the right pitch
How many positions are there?
8 primary, but you can play notes higher than that.
@@Violinspiration thank you. So why we learn 3 Rd position first after first , initial position, not second ?

after learning 3rd position, i try not to touch the e-string anymore (lol)... only for pop songs
