    Great video Matt! Question: why look at comps and precedent transactions but not run a DCF? Is there intention behind that?
    By the way, your videos helped me land an internship at a pretty sweet boutique investment bank focused on tech M&A for next summer. You're an idol.

    • @PeakFrameworks
      @PeakFrameworks  3 года назад +1

      Congrats man! You could just as well do a DCF, but it tends to be much flimsier when the company is this small. A DCF is predicated on a 5 year forecast, and a 5 year forecast for a business like this would be extremely artificial and sensitive to assumption. It would be useful as a sanity check, but harder to derive valuation from.

    Thank you for this great video! I just had a question about the multiplier. How does one develop a price target based on the market cap/run-rate revenue multiplier?

    • @PeakFrameworks
      @PeakFrameworks  3 года назад +1

      Multiple x Metric = Market Cap
      (Market Cap / Revenue) x Revenue = Market Cap
      When you get to Market Cap, you divide by # of shares to get to share price.
      So they're currently trading at 3x Revenue x ~$80mm of Revenue, which is ~$250mm Market Cap. Then divide by their shares to get to a share price.
