I thought sharpie was permanent too. But if you rub it really hard with your finger, it’ll eventually wipe off the markings. Not as permanent as implied.
Also if you apply new sharpie over the old sharpie and wipe it off before it dries, it’ll also remove the old dried sharpie markings too, if that makes any sense.
