    Possibly the reason for the colour change, I know if you use iron water it will darken the colours.
    What else can be used besides Alum? I do not have any on hand here and not able to get any right away. Would the vinegar act as enough of a mordant for this sort of a project or maybe the cream of tartar?
    Great video, thanks for going into such detail as well.

      I seen on another channel...cabin boy knits...where he used rusted nails that were soaked in a jar as a mordant...looked interesting...
