REGIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE, BHUJ I FILM I GUJARATI

A state-of-the-art Regional Science Center is being developed by the Government of Gujarat under the auspices of the Department of Science and Technology through the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST). This center has been developed at Bhujio Dungar, near Smritivan in Bhuj, at Madhapar Road.
The center has a vibrant design on about 10.00 acres of land built on a cost of Rs. 100.00 Crore that stimulates curiosity and keeps learning alive for life.
The main objectives of the Regional Science Center are to inculcate a scientific attitude in the general public and to cultivate and maintain public awareness of science, to play a role as a medium of exchange between science and technology and society, to act as a resource and facilitate community science centers, students and teachers of the surrounding areas, to be a center for providing awareness and facilities to the people and to motivate the students to become the next generation of scientists, organizing training programs for science teachers / students / young entrepreneurs / technicians / disabled / housewives and others related to science, technology and industry.
The main attractions of the Regional Science Center include six galleries (Space Science, Marine Navigation, Energy Science, Nanotechnology, Bonsai, Fields Medal) with various themes exploring science, central courtyard for leisurely retrieval of information, facility for organizing workshops, observatory for observing space, various technologically themed gardens.
The RSC is designed to accommodate the disabled and the elderly, with facilities such as outdoor recreational activities and a cafeteria.
In addition to the galleries in the centre, state-of-the-art facilities such as submarine simulator, marine navigation simulator, 3D theater, solar tree, Fibonacci principle sculpture, Nanotunnel for kids to play, PSLV rocket model, bonsai garden and related workshop are being developed, where visitors, especially students and researchers, will have a hands-on experience. A science-themed park is being developed around the centre. In which visitors will be able to enjoy the outdoor display.
The Regional Science Centre Bhuj will be the hub of science and technology based innovation in the entire Kutch district. Apart from that various district and state level science based programs are planned to be organized throughout the year. Along with this the Regional Science Center will emerge as a special attraction for science based tourism for the residents of Bhuj city and all over Kutch.
