@@novicelumberjack I'm not going with a removable head, I just dont think i have the brains to do it, Im probably gonna figure out how to toss a 660 carb on and run Methanol w/ NitroPropane 👍🏻
Nitromethane runs air fuel ratio around 2 or 3 : 1, methanol is around 8:1 gasoline is 14.7:1 stoichiometric but usually closer to 13.5:1 in actual use. Both methanol and nitromethane have lower energy content per gallon than gasoline but since you can burn more of the fuel in each combustion cycle you can achieve higher power outputs.
This is excellent Dave. But really? 2 or 3 parts air to one part fuel for nitro? Seriously!? No wonder it's so hard to run that stuff! But I guess if you are only running say 40% nitro and the rest is methanol (or whatever it is) then it would probably fall somewhere in the 6:1 range.
Methanol and Ethanol are both just two types of alcohols. Ethanol is the type you drink, methanol is the type that if you drink you will go blind. Oh and ethanol is the type of alcohol that’s in our gas for like E10, E15, ect. The reason methanol is used with nitro, is because nitro will not dissolve into gasoline. That’s why you never see nitro and gasoline mixed together. There is a type of nitro that will mix with gasoline, it’s called Nitropropane. I’ve played with it in my saws. Works great. Klotz sells it to mix with gasoline. Not as potent as nitro but still very effective.
Would be interesting to make a saw run on nitomethane fuel. Used mostly in rc planes, cars, boats, and helicopters. Heli fuel usually is the highest nitomethane content but also has the most oill. Very expensive but a lot of potential.
He was going to send Peter to me. I was going to drop it off at Sawfest, per your initial idea, but he fell ill and did t get it out in time. I believe it’s on the way, let me know if you want it to go to Eric still or sent to you directly.
I’m not an athlete, I’m an athletic supporter….No comment I would not be competing. My understanding it may already be in the mail, but I can check with him.
Nitromethane x4 the power Gona use ceramic bearings or take a shot with those 😅 as a rider im guessing you know clean those advanced fuel systems well.!!
Those 361 mufflers are the absolute worst piece of restricted crap you will find.... The outlet pipe is like the diameter of a pencil! Looking forward to the build. I really like those saws... Decent antivibe, light and small enough to handle like a 50cc saw and when ported can run with or exceed some of the stock 70cc saws.... Let er rippp!
These are going to be some fun builds! Can't wait to see some progress/test cuts

O this is going to be fun this year!
Yes it is. MethylNitroPropane baby!!!!!
@@dubbssawshop o yeah!
Sounds like an awesome class to compete in!
Good to hear Peter Frampton isn't lost and forgotten. Hope it gets on the move soon.

Are you gonna go all out, Dubb? Methanol? Head saw?

You could totally do it…..just time.
Awesome can't wait to see this turn out!
The 361 IS A PRIZED Stihl 60cc saw.

@@novicelumberjackyes that’s why top fuel dragsters are nearly hydrolocking the cylinders at full throttle…with fuel!!!

If you get it, definitely send it to me. Unless... would you want to run it next year?

Before watching the whole video... i would suggest showing rhe stock cylinder vs. The big bore cylinder offered.
