Tip: Japan basically invented double cleansing culture and the cleaners are called in two different names depending on which step it is. クレンジング (Kurenjingu) is meant to be used first and 洗顔料 (Senganryo) is meant to be second. They’ll say on the back!! Japanese cleansers (the second step) tend to be soap-based so look for ones that say アミノ酸 (amino acid) for gentle surfactants!!!
Basically makeup removal. Many aspects in different cultures. Not just what is trending. Cold cream has been used for decades. Shu uemura is the progenitor of commercialized and mainstream oil cleansing. But Ancient Greeks and Romans have been using poultices and oils to cleanse for centuries.
My go-to sunscreens for dealing with acne-prone skin is littlllextra rice berry SPF 50+ sunscreen. The major issues I face with a lot of sunscreens are that either they break me out and they make my skin feel dry and burn. However, this sunscreen doesn’t have those issues and it applies well under makeup which is essential for me since I wear makeup daily as someone with acne-prone skin.
Anything labeled "tone up" is made to make the color of your skin one tone up... so use the regular version (gold tube for that skin aqua) if you don't want that extra white cast look
Oh those foaming cleansers like the Senka Whip REALLY need a washing net to lather it up into huge foaming dense 'whipped cream & egg white' texture. Hold then wet the net under the tap and put a dollop of cleanser on it then scrub the net back and forth with your other hand and behold the awesome texture change. It's part of why people love it. Without the transformation courtesy of the net technique, it's nothing special. PS- Soft Stone Deo-Naturelle is the BEST non-fragranced deodorant on planet Earth. Expensive but especially for hirsute, physically active men it's worth every penny.
I looove that Hada Labo gold one, it soo moisturizing, my skin feel so soft without make me break out tho I have very sensitive skin, maybe because it is fragrance and alcohol free
Senka Perfect Whip is the best foaming cleanser. Be sure to get the one with the banner sticker. Put a tiny drop on your palm and add 3 drops water and swirl into your palm to a count of 20 and you’re in for a cleanser treat,👍
the biore sunscreen comes in a few colours, and u choose the colour based on your skin concerns, like colour correcting. the green is good for redness and the violet is good for dullness. been using them both for a good year and they're great as makeup prep too !!
There's a yellow Hadalabo Premium is thicker and meant for a bit more mature/dry skin, I believe. There's a blue/white one that's lighter and and even lighter version of it as well which they will label with katakana as ライトタイプ (Light Type), so if you ask the store clerks in English, they might understand you. That particular Skin Aqua line of sunscreens is very similar to the Biore line which I actually like a bit better. Another similar line is the KOSE brand which has cute designs but I find it to be a bit thicker and stronger in smell than the Skin Aqua and Biore brands.
I bought my sixty-five years old mom hada labo premium lotion and she said her skin is well hydrated. Hada Labo has three series Gokujyun if you want moist skin, shirojyun for brighter skin and alpha for aging skin.
In Japan, soap-based face wash is quite popular mainly because people use oil based cleanser first. If you look for “アミノ酸系 (amino acid-based) cleanser you’ll find non soap-based cleansers (which is also common now). Soap based cleanser feels tight cuz it’s more alkaline.

Idk about vitamin C, but one of the #1 affordable eye creams in Japan is the Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Eye Cream. In Japan, it's only about 700-900 yen, so about ($4 to $7). Idk how much it'll cost as an exported good. Another eye cream/wrinkle cream I liked was the Innisfree branded one from Korea. It's more expensive, but the rolling ball feels so nice and the texture is lighter and more gel-like than the Japanese one. Hope that helps!
They are the same but he didn’t whip it correctly. Also people have different skin types. Many people in Japan like that cleanser but it doesn’t mean everyone would
Thank you. I have a question, please. I have oily skin on my face. Knowing that my hair is very dry and there are blackheads in the area of the nose and around it and the forehead. Also, the pores on my face are very clear .Clearly anyone is watching. What should I use? Please reply. Thank you very much.
Is your skin sensitive? For blackhead I usually use salicylic acid, or BHA, don't forget moisturizer, also if your skin super oily you can use Clay mask sometimes, hope it helps
finally another senka perfect whip hater- i have tried it so many ways, but it just turns me into literal eczema-pimple-sand (yes i have tried it after double cleanse, yes it still turned me into sahara desert hell- that is how i first tried it actually tho)
I am using the Senka perfect whip now but only a pea-sized amount in the morning to wash off the overnight oil and thick moisturizer. I def agree it's too drying, so I've never used it as a second-step for a double cleanse. Have you ever tried the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser? I really liked this one and didn't find it drying. Otherwise, Hadalabo makes a really gentle foaming cleanser that's good for sensitive skin and daily use. Would recommend giving those a try!
I really love japan skincare except theirs Cleanser. 80% of cleanser in the market are soap base, it’s always break me out and make my skin dry like desert 🥹
I tried Hada labo lotion, it feels like silk on the skin and very moisturising bit its only for normal and dry skin. For my prone skin it has too much silicone and resulted comedogenic in my case.

How's the vitamin c one? It will brighten skin? Suitable for oily skin?

Try the Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner range!!!
These are all low grade commercial lines. If you want affordable lines go for Korean. The high end lines go for Japanese.
Do you have any recommendations for korean ones?
Aren’t you supposed to “whip” the cleanser 😮😮😮

Hottest dermatologist I have ever seen tbh
It's cause he's gae
Thx
Do either of the last two products contain sillicones?
I currently use Anthelios 50+ ShakaShake (or whatever it's called!) On my face and I love it
i love skin aqua whitening milk spf, in my country it's cheap and hybrid so it won't clogged pores and also tone up normally for me
Instead of sekana perfect wipe there is any other option I can use with the same effect
I tried the first cleanser 10 years ago, and instantly allergic reaction, I threw it away instantly
Anw careful with the senka, its not savw for sensitive skin since it is too stripping -_
