- In this video, George Hussey, Dr. 914, takes you on a tour of the Porsche 914 relay board highlighting the differences between engine models while helping you understand yours.
I agree that this was an extremely clear explanation of what is going on in this “mystery box”. Your analytics were excellent.
Simply the best explanation and detail with important tips in trouble shooting.

Thank you so much! An excellent tutorial! I am in the middle of troubleshooting my 914. Too long to go into here, but it all started with a fuel pump relocation to the front. Everything good - for about 5 minutes! Been downhill since. But, this video has been a great help! Thanks.
Thank you for this video and the others. I have a 74 2.0 that I am finally starting to dig into after sitting for 20+ years.
Of course, good luck! If you have any questions feel free to call in.
Just happened upon this video. Man... I needed this 8 years ago. Thanks George.
Thank you for the correction later in the video in regards to the rear window defroster relay and heater blower relay. I watched this video twice just to make sure that I heard correctly; Then I checked the schematic. At first, I wondered why the car would have 2 defroster relays for something that was a option. When I didn’t find a second defroster relay in the schematic, I knew that it was a honest mistake. Awesome video, by the way. Thank you.
George I appreciate the time and effort you went to produce this video. I'm in the process of reassembly and I have had to replace all the rear harness wires do to electrical shorts and burnt looms. This video was handy in reconfirming a number of key issues. Thank you.
As usual, very informative video. Thank you George.
Thank you!
Excellent as always! Thanks for sharing your expertise George!
Of course!
Outstanding video, George! You addressed a couple of concerns and gave me a few useful pointers in this video, especially regarding my rear window defroster. Keep up the good work! And just got my recent AA order! 😃👍

Thanks for explaining why my 1974 1.8 is missing relays!
Thanks George well done !!!
Of course!
Great explanation
Great video! Thanks for your help on the phone today!
Thanks George. Very informative and well done. PDXBob
Thank you Dr.
Thx!
Excellent video
Nice 👍🏻
Nicely done George! Sure wish I had information like this back in the ‘70s. I couldn’t help noticing how clean the back side of the relay board is. How did you ever get it so clean without tearing it to pieces?
Awesome! (as usual 😀) thx.
Thank you!
Hello, I am taking part in a research project. I could not find almost any information about the "main relay" of Porsche 912. Can you help me with this?
"What is the main relay of 912 L jetronics used for?"
Thank you Dr. Awesome videos!
I am new 914 owner and in process of correction many things that have happened over the years. It’s a 1.7 converted to carbs. and it want to ask where the thick lead coming from the alternator goes? The three pin plug goes to the board as you show, but where should correctly the fat lead go?
Best

Hi Anders, feel free to call in at 770-427-2844 and ask your question, we'll be able to give you a better answer.
So George my question is I have a 1.8 L that you guys bought out to a 2 L and I’m not totally sure on how to check the relays to see why my fuel pump isn’t working. Is there a way to check on the 1.8 board to see why the fuel pump isn’t turning on? Thank you.
