Nice tour! Thank-you for sharing. I lived in Dutch Harbor and Unalaska for about ten years . Mid 1980's to mid 1990's. Not too many changes from those days. There was no paved roads and no Safeway when I was there. I watched the demolition of all the military building around Margaret's Bay and the building of the Grand Aleutian Hotel. Also saw the building of Westward Seafoods out at Captains Bay. Out near your house use to be a Company called Eastpoint Seafoods. All of there buildings had been painted a bright yellow color. You could see them for miles! I knew Tom Madsen, the person the Charted State owned airport designated DUT on the FAA charts, is named after. I was blessed with calling Tom a true friend, R.I.P. Tom Madsen.
I worked for pile. Western Pioneer Delta western petroleum on f/v BowFun F/v Sally J I helped Renee and shirley on the spit deckhand loading the boats back in the day lots of memory s at the bunkhouse
Wheres my comments I was in Dutch before you were born. You dont know who Western Pioneer Delta Western Delta western Petroleum or where the bunkhouse or the dock letalone where the DeepSea was parked Tourist.
I would like to live in this place, when I showed to my wife in the map she threats me with divorce 😅. But I am serious, I would like to live in this place.
It’s a wonderful place to live and work, but very expensive and also far from major cities in the US. During winter time it’s a little bit challenging if you’re not use to strong wind. A lot of rain during rainy seasons as well. Other than that, it’s peaceful here.
I was in Dutch Harbor doing work with a product I developed. A place at the near end of America that is for sure. Most Americans have no idea where Dutch Harbor is. It is also the King Crab capital of the world.
Thank you for this! I'm a lifelong Fairbanks resident, and I've always wondered about life out in the Aleutians. This was an excellent tour!
great tour

You’re welcome. Stay safe.
You didn’t take us to Unisea and Westward seafoods where I had worked and reside.

@@egc3086 The weather doesn't scares me. I like the idea to live in a very low dense population area.
