The intro is so damn perfect for how much of a kind of tragic figure Shishido is. He fought for his ideal life both literally and figuratively with all of his might, only to have it all ripped away by a single decision out of his control. No way to change the outcome at all, and this made him blind to other options to keep living the life he had grown to love. Easily, by far, the best sympathetic antagonist in the franchise.

The best antagonist of all for me will always remain to be Nishiki and how much more backinfo we got through 0 and kiwami, seeing how is downfall began.
How he lost his "brother" and a pillar to hold onto, how other members of the Yakuza didn't take him seriously and with no one to ask for help, because that one was in prison all this time, he slowly began to break. Then all the stuff that happend with his sister... it then really broke him mentally. He only wanted the best for his sister and all of the... lets say bullying from other members of the "family"... for me he's the most tragic antagonists of all in the franchise.
Then I'd follow it with Ryuji because he still had respect. He respected everything and wanted Kiryu as his best when fighting him. He had the right ideals and he too was a full on Yakuza. And for me the Boss fight against him will always be epic af
Then I'd say Shishido because everything you said.

It took an entire game and a full remake to make Nishiki not look like a lame dickhead - it only took shishido a dlc length game.

Much better than Ebina's backstory and as a character himself. RGG tried so hard making that random guy to look like a badass punching and kicking everyone in Kiryu's party like nothing when we never saw him in action before.
They will have a hard time making a new antagonist that can top Shishido.

​​@@SypticParasiteThis is so real. Ebina's intro was cool and all, but it has a similar issue as Yakuza 5. Aizawa in that game just didn't get enough screen time to show what he's capable of before his final fight. ​There's just no build-up to those two to make us intimidated where as Shishido does.

This fight was amazing. One of the most intense final boss fights in the entire series. Reminiscent of the Aizawa fight in Tojo HQ but also the fight with Ryuji. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Shishido's downfall was brutal. By the third phase even the theme gives you the feeling that despite trying so hard, Shishido had been bested, yet he was willing to die on that day. Sadly for him he didn't.

Aizawa fight was way better arranged. Ruiji's fight was way more emotional.

@@KiyanOzdemir Yeah you guessed it. I did not. I just wanted to know how the game ended so I ended facing Shishido in professional with no gear, only two heat bars, 6 or 7 toughness Z after the Watase/Nishitani/Omi fights and no agent upgrades. took me like 2+ hours to beat him with almost no damage. But the feeling throughout the fight was awesome. That bastard deals a lot of damage and his elbow stuns in his first katana phases are really annoying. One of the hardest boss fights in Yakuza/Like a Dragon. Fortunately the game restores your health and heat when you try again. I remember he dealing more damage in his unarmed phases exept for hir charged katana attack but his charged kick in the last phase which is an automatic game over if you fail that mortal reverse.

This track is angry as hell you can feel the rage through it which is perfect for shishido who is literally too angry to die. I can only describe this fight as raging fire (shishido) vs overwhelming ocean waves (kiryu)

God once that phase 2 hits it just became a whole different vibe. I was legit about to cry and just telling myself “dude just stop please. It’s hurting me to.”. It just hurt to even fight the man anymore (In a good well written way of course.).
