You guys should listen to the unaltered version next. It has a lot more screaming. Howard Jones is an amazing singer and screamer.
The only thing I wish they used in both versions is Adam singing "There is love" at the end , in this version its so beautiful and I really feel like it caps off the vibe of the song.

Yeah this song and the radio version of End of Heartache take all the power out of the songs, which is why I avoid recommending those particular tracks to reactors.
He is amazing. I just wish he shared a name with some other musician.

Killswitch is one of my favorite bands. The singer of the band at that point was Howard Jones. He replaced the original singer Jesse Leach. After a couple records, Howard Jones had to leave the band because of problems with his diabetes. He was replaced by... Jesse Leach! So it's gone full circle.
Killswitch has a very distinctive sound. All of their music sounds very similar to this. If you want to see a kick ass moment, do "The Signal Fire". Howard Jones and Jesse Leach together dual vocalizing!

@@bradkohl99 I love them both! I must admit, however, I do love a lot more of the songs during the Jesse era as opposed to the Howard era. But Howard has such an amazing voice, it sets him apart from a lot of metal singers.
@@Strathaczar I just don’t care for him, as I was a huge fan during their initial run with Jesse. It felt like being cheated of having the band I liked by having a different style of vocalist.
They have a great cover for Holy Diver, This Fire, The end of a Heartache, Rose of Sharyn... go!

@@christophercraft3449 yes! they have to, it´s a great band with tons of power. just named a few that I loved back in the day... I haven't gone too far in the "new" stuff, but thanks to Hollywood and Smokey for bringing back this awesome band that was kind of lost for me

Don’t you think it’s a bit odd that you think cloud connected would be the only In Flames song I know? It’s from like 2004. Don’t you think that’s a bit random? What do you think I was just like “Oh! Oh! I’ll recommend that random In Flames song I heard back in ‘04!”? Reroute to remain is a great entry album for listeners that arent used to hearing such heavy ass metal. That is why I recommended it. And that entire album kicks fucking ass! What a stupid ass comment.

Has both of the lead vocalists from throughout their years. Was Jessie (white dude) and then they got Howard (black dude) and then they got Jessie back now. Signal Fire is a banger that showcases voth of their strengths.

Killswitch Engage is a metal core staple it's just one of those bands that has a ton of songs that people love and they put on a great show.

“That style” is largely the guitar player/backup vocalist for killswitch. His name is Adam D. He produced LOTS of bands similar to this. Check out a song called ants of the sky by between the buried and me. It’s every genre in one song.

Check out My Last Serenade by Killswitch Engage to see the original and now current lead singer Jesse Leach preform with them! He's an amazing lyricist and his vocals have gotten a lot better now that he has returned to the band! I'd recommend Rose of Sharyn, End of Heartache, Holy Diver, A Bid Farewell, When Darkness Falls, Daylight Dies(all Howard Jones who you saw in this video). Then you should do In Due Time, Life to Lifeless, The Hell In Me, Hate By Design, Just Barely Breathing, Unleashed that all feature Jesse! Then top it off with the Signal Fire featuring both of them!!!!
Man alive I've been waiting for some KSE here! My vote for next Killswitch react: My Last Serenade. Also supposedly they got their name from an episode of The X-Files
Killswitch has always been respected, revered, and basically one of the leaders of the 2000's wave of American metal. Their guitarist Adam D has produced for bands like As I Lay Dying, Shadows Fall, Bullet For My Valentine, Norma Jean, etc. and he was actually a winner on an episode of Price Is Right. Their live show is insane and their former (but current on this song) vocalist Howard has a band called Light The Torch (formerly Devil You Know) and they're just as sick. Especially their cover of Eye Of The Tiger.
"Signal fire" from their latest album. Has both singers. By far my new favorite from killswitch engage

I have loved this band ever since the first time I heard them (Doing the math for when that was will just hurt my feelings and make me feel old as shit). Jesse and Howard, BOTH AMAZING! Good songs to check out: Rose of Sharyn, Fixation on the Darkness, Life to Lifeless, My Last Serenade, When Darkness Falls, Reject Yourself, In Due Time, Always, and No End In Sight. I know, a lot of songs but these guys just bust out hits non stop.
Man, nobody ever recommends Fixation. That's the song that got me into them. Kudos.

Ahhh I wish this wasn't the clean version!! The original has a lot more of Howard's screaming. He is an absolutely incredible vocalist.

End of Heartache is one of my very favorites sung by this dude right here. Also check out Arms of Sorrow, My Last Serenade(it’s sung by Jesse though, but I’m sure you’ll love his voice too)

Killswitch is so awesome. Listened to them since day one. Love when I see a black frontman for a metal band. A rare thing! A lesser known, but awesome band with a black vocalist is Bury Your Dead. Good heavy stuff. Another, from my teenage years is SEVENDUST!!!
You should listen to "End of Heartache", "Rose of Sharyn", and especially "Signal Fire" (which features both singers of KSE, Howard Jones and Jason Leach). As another comment stated, Howard had to leave the band because of rising issues with his diabetes and Jesse Leach came back to sing for them. Signal Fire is the first song they did with both singers, and it's so good!

Got to see these guys live back in the day. Howard and Adam are hilarious. Adam made a joke about the day Howard was born and the nurse dropped him. Then he said this next song is “when darkness falls”. I guess he did a different joke for it at every show.
I saw them in Denver with Cradle of Filth and remember Adam licking his guitar in the middle of a song. That dude.. we’re lucky to have people like him in the world.
