Nice video too, thanks. Electrification works (catenary installation and a new 25kV traction substation in Olhão) from Faro to Vila Real are about to begin - on site from January 2022 - and conclusion will be in 20 months. This means that all long course trains from Porto and Lisbon will end at Vila Real rather than Faro. Also regional DDU's will be replaced by TEU's.
The Portuguese govt has been lobbying hard with Spain to build the "missing link" from Huelva to V.R. Santo Antonio for a while, but Spain has a lot of infrastructure projects on their plate and it comes a long way down their "To do" list, which is a real shame. Hopefully it'll get done one day, and the Faro Santo Antonio link gets electrified as well. While an AVE to Faro would be awesome, I'd like to a see a dual-gauge or Iberian gauge link so you can go right through Lisbon to Sevilla via Alfa Pendular, and also run a Cercanías from Huelva to Santo Antonio to provide an affordable no-fuss option for commuters, shoppers and whatnot that ties into the existing CP commuter service onwards to Faro. Come on Adif, let's do this.

There used to be a train line from Ayamonte to Huelva, and the stain was right outside the place the ferry stops. The service was stoped in 1987 and the train station was converted to a bus station :/
But there is actually another way to make the whole journey by train to get to Seville. It would involve a ton of changes and you'd be experiencing the backbone of Portuguese and Spanish railway systems but it's possible. The thing is that there is an international route (that somehow is labeled as a regional one) from Entrocamento in Portugal (served by a ton of short and long distance trains, including the Alfa pendulares from Lisbon to Porto and the intercidades from Lisbon to quite some cities) to Badajoz in Spain, right on the border. It runs during daytime with a journey each way per day. From Badajoz you can catch trains to Madrid or, if you change at Mérida, to Seville.
And, yes, the grafitti are really a problem here in Portugal. The people who make them just invade the train depots and make them during the night. The train operator claims to not have enough spare money to have someone safeguarding the depots. Meanwhile they keep investing from time to time on cleaning the grafitti. But soon after the trains are cleaned, they are vandalized again :/
And while most of these are done at night, I read some news some years ago about a group who stopped a train en route, by blocking the doors from closing, while other members where painting the train. It's really awfull!!!

I have doen that trip on the train before, really scenic. Technically I did Villa Real to Castro Marim, Monte Gordo to Faro and the whole route

Vroeger reedde trein door tot Ayamonte. Dat de trein nietmeertot aan de ferry rijdt is jammer, doet me denken aan Milazzo opSicilië,daar vind je een gelijkaardige situatie

I paid at a small office on the Harbour.
Do we buy the train ticket at the station or from the conductor?
I think you can buy it from the conductor as well. This trip I was using Interrail. For another trip on local trains over here I've bought a ticket at the station but I guess lots of small stations are not being staffed.
