I learned how to drive a car at 46. I had previously failed my driving test as a teenager three times and was told by everyone to just give it up and so I did. Then 29 years later I had a new job opportunity in a location too far to ride a bicycle in the winter and there were no buses. So I bit the bullet and took lessons. I had a very good teacher. But not until after I went through two not so good teachers and failed my driving exam twice more. I was a nervous wreck. The examiner asked if I had a bunch of DUI's. Seems that nearly everyone at that age taking an exam was doing so because they had lost their license. I told him I'd simply failed my driving exam three times as a teen and gave up but was back trying again. He told me he'd learned to ride a bicycle at 51 and understood. He told me to take a deep breath, relax and if I didn't pass not to give up and come back and try again and keep trying and then began the exam and when he was done he told me I was an excellent defensive driver and he told me I'd passed.
That was the proudest moment of my life. Then it took me several years to get up the courage to drive on the interstate. I detested high speeds. I'd been in a couple of accidents as a child and was terrified of driving so close to people driving so fast and often recklessly. Eventually I got over that fear and drove from Rhode Island to Florida and never looked back.
I have a horrible fear of heights. I tried getting over that fear 35 years ago when I got a job as a roofer. The money was good so I decided to give it a shot. Upon completion of the first roof I was given the honor of putting in the last nail. My back was turned. I was facing away from the gable. That's when I felt a shove and went over. They had pushed me off the roof. I landed on my feet but broke both ankles and I have not been more than 18" off the ground since. I don't even like stairs. I'm thinking of taking up sky diving.

It's interesting there are only 5 comments to such a life affirming, uplifting, accessible "class"...

That's not really a little girl. She's a 36 year old dwarf. Little girls aren't able to articulate anywhere near that well. Either that or She's had a brain transplant with a college student.
