We had a 56 like that with the 2bbl poly engine. It was light gray/dark gray 2 tone, power brakes, power steering, factory twice pipes! It was my grandpas car and we inherited it when he bought a new 63 Impala a step down in my opinion. As a kid I loved that old Dodge! It lost reverse gear and my Dad said it was not worth fixing. I argued for the car but lost as I was only a 4th grader at the time.
That's a Custom Royal series top trim level. 315 2bbl poly engine, Super Red Ram. The 4 bbl was optional and was called the Super 230 Powered as in 230 hp. The hemi was available as the D-500 also a 315. The hood and deck lid would have the D-500 flags
Good job saving it from total destruction, but it's a shame it has to be relegated to a parts car, pretty cool car and nicely optioned. Been to many car shows and you just don't see 50's Dodges
Even in the early 1970's every body knew these old 50's wagons had Hemi's...good lord I rode in one back in 1970...holy smoke that turd brown 54' wagon was crazy diarea fast.
Is this a state or federal work effort. One guy working and three talking to him! Seriously, I appreciate the video. Would you happen to have a 1966 Galaxie XL? If so, I’m interested
Drove a 83 buick lesabre on a flat front tire home aboit 10 miles 3 oclock in the morning leaving da bar sparks shooting in the air 20 - 30 feet thru town even cops must of all been at the waffle house that night
Ya - It's the same old stuff - Goodpliers talking and holding the camera, and the other guy doing all the work - That's how it usually works with me too - I do the work and the farmer and my buddy just want the shoot the breeze - but then again it's my car.
We have spotted a big Ambassador two door in the woods. Super neat car. I need to figure out about going to pick it up. Send me an email: mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com
Hello saw your video it was a Plymout 53 2door sedan in the backgrond. Can you pliase measure the length of the door?. I shall build a custom 4door to 2door greetings from Sweden.
Thanks for your interest. We have several 1953 Plymouth two door cars. The doors are 48 1/4 inches long. We can provide those, along with any other body parts such as roof sections, etc
The Plymouth version 318ci, had a respectable 260 hp., with 4bbl., the same as the later(273-318) version. With some modern mods, it could make much more.
I've just never seen anyone build a performance version of em so I'd love to give it a try. On a side note, they used the 350 cu. In. Marine version in ChrisCraft boats in the mid 50s that had an awesome carb set up. They had 4 2bbl kind of side draft carb set ups that looked awesome! I'd love to find one of those and build the shit out of it😁
@@sethbarnes7608 Uncle Tony, on his popular U-tube videos, documents a build, any some problems encountered with a 318 Poly. You get to hear the 63 Plymouth wind up, and hurtle down the road !
@@sethbarnes7608 In some respects, they encorporate a staggered valve head, much like the Ford Cleveland(and big-block), and the big-block Chevy porcupine heads. It's a shame they did'nt refine the design further.
I would call him my best friend. We are almost like brothers. That lets us be relaxed around each other... but at the same time, opposites attract and that doesn't mean it's always totally friction free!
Rumor has it that if one was to put a wrench in Joe's hand while he is asleep, he will start to turn it. Thanks for the upload
Bwahahahaha , Joe called you a door knob LMAO. Ty for sharing
Man there is a ton of chrome & stainless on the Old Dodge. 😎👍🇨🇦
Cool find
Very cool.................. 👍👍👍

Wonder if the Dodge 315 poly is similar to the Plymouth 318 poly engine ?
@@jeromebreeding3302 It is not. Well, similar in idea but not interchangeable. Different bore spacing to start with.
Another car saved for parts. Lots of good stuff on it!
I like these '50's Dodges, even with massive rats nests in them! Hey Tim, you'll have to make another rust ranch video, Joe says so!!

They are unique relics of the 50s. The beginning of the Forward Look styling
One of the best sounding V8’s too☝🏻

This makes me want to work on the 51 Imperial I've been sitting on for a while.
I had the 55 dodge custom royal, 270 Hemi. NO DAK CAR, MINE HAD THE CHROME FINS ON THE BACK.
Lowered on bags and keep the patina install a hellcat powerplant Mexican blanket seats
You got a 315 Poly there
I would have been tempted to pull the hood off before I took it down the road.
Does it have a 45rpm record player?

This from the auction in Big Spring?
No, this one was one we found a month ago. We just finished bidding today... Stay tuned to see what we bring home from the Texas auction!
@@mr.goodpliers6988 Fantastic! Looking forward. I had to ignore the auction completely, for my own good. 😫
Good score ! And i bet got a new family of rats that came with the car lol

I'll bet she will run...😁😁😁😁
That would be a good series to try and get running, you don’t see a lot of hemi’s
tim where did you find the hub puller at i cant find one and i need one bad let me know were you found it at .thanks

We see them at auctions now and then. Believe it or not they are available on Walmart.com for under $100
I hope if I make it to heaven when I pass, the cars there are all old cars ... and dogs live longer.
9:08 Do you sell any vehicles? I am looking for my dream car. But its not a Mopar. Any suggestions for 1955-57 Nash/Hudson?

@@jeromebreeding3302 those engines had remarkably good port design, so I'm thinking they'd make good power if you prepped em right
