Great review! Little tip for you, if you grab the excess guitar string and just spin it in circles over and over again, it'll pop right off at the locking nut- no sharp ends!
Place the string in the saddle and tighten the tuning knob gradually untill you can't pull the string out of the saddle. Feed it through the locking nut and pull it tight, cut the string right at the locking nut with a pair of wire snippers. Feed the string back into the locking nut .5mm so you can see the string inside the locking nut then lock it. Basically pre-cut the string. @@rorycosgrove
Many comments have pointed out that there seems to be an issue with my particular model in regards to the strings being too far to the treble side. I hadn’t noticed it at first, but it’s definitely a problem. I will most likely be pursuing warranty action, which I’ll chronicle in another video, so please subscribe if you’d like to see how it turns out!
Great review. I've played the 6 string versions and those necks are like baseball bats. I have this one coming in the mail, and looking forward to testing it!
"Fuzzy pickups"... I can't detect the blur in your video. Maybe the grain of the RUclips compression makes it go away. I have a Q54 and its pickup sounds are clear and defined, not only to my ears, but also to others who have tried my guitar. Is it a matter of listening attitude/education or different interpretation of perceived sounds or guitar pairing with pedals and amp?
great video!! subscribed!! how does it compare to the stranberg? in terms of sound comfort and quality? im realy debating if it's worth the ~600$ price tag differance. i'll be happy to see your opinion on the subject:) great job!!
I tested this one yesterday after watching. The neck lost me... the frets are VERY coarse and the neck lost me good. The slanted config also didn't help, made it even harder... turning the playing a challenge. I was sure I would be buying because of the dinamics mini split. I am actually disappointed with the guitar. Ot is gorgeous though and the size is very nice.
I'm thinking about buying this one but i play mostly prog metal (djenty stuff) like haken or tesseract. are the pickups gonna work for taht stuff? Great video
I think the neck might be fine. It looks like the g string bridge piece is slightly misaligned which the b and e string followed thus pushing that high e off the board. Either way he should definitely return it or get it replaced.
Actually looking closely there is a larger gap between the neck pickup and the neck on the bass side, it may be slightly crooked. Not great but doesn’t seem to affect the playability at all
2:11 “I can only imagine how light the 6 string is”. My Q54 weighs 4.6 pounds (~2 kg). The uber light weight is a huge boon as it’s easy to move around with. My 8 pound Charvel feels like a bag of bricks in comparison.
That high e right on the edge of the fret is really triggering omg 🤣 looks like you couldn't even press the last few frets on the high e, let alone do vibrato. Also, the strings should be right on the middle of each pickup pole. Something is definitely not right. Otherwise, great guitar, really tempting :)
Yea it hasn’t bothered me but now that these comments have brought it to my attention I can’t stop thinking about it lol I think I’m gonna get it resolved
i wanted to like these so bad. i hated almost everything about the one i played. it was at a guitar center though so im sure ibanez sent them a b stock piece of trash that they were going to throw away anyway and then the fine folks at guitar center made it so it would never be playable again.

You can try tightening the screws and pulling the neck the other way that’s what I do just be careful
I thought the saddles were individually adjustable (up or down)? They are on the bass
This is a problem on a lot of guitars made in the past few years especially. Its the first thing I look for on any guitar.

Hmm my Q52 pickups sound great not a bit fuzzy . Not sure why yours is.
your neck is misaligned, high e string is falling off the edge of the fretboard, id return that asap

Not sure what you guys are seeing but the high e plays fine
